June 6, 201213 yr Moderator Find GEX/UTX combo to be the best. Difference between with and without is like night and day. Do not enjoy flying without it. Colors look just fine to me and I have to "special" monitor. If you want the best enjoyment out of FSX, you can't go wrong buying GEX. June 6, 201213 yr @Racn: There´s no worldwide coverage with GEX and UTX. If you mean The World as The United States of America, then yes! I´ve often heard americans abroad saying "will be nice to get back to the World again" - weird...
June 16, 201213 yr Hi all, sorry about a long question for a first one. Ive been out of the FS world for several years and now that I got my new PC I'm very eager to fire things up with FSX. Im running FSX Acceleration as of now with some scenery add-ons like Blue Sky CA, Denver, PR, and numerous others. I recently installed some of the FTX add-ons and was completely blown away! So all of this has opened my eyes and want to step it up and install UTX, GEX and REX. Here is the problem. I unfortunately made a rash decision and went ahead and bought and installed FScene X a few weeks ago. So do I have to uninstall FScene X before I install UTX and the rest, or can I leave it alone and be able to overide it w/ GEX in scenery add-ons? Also do you guys think that its stupid to do all of this w/o a Terrain Mesh add yet, and start their first? Thanks in advance for all of the help.
June 16, 201213 yr I would assume you can just install over FScene, as GEX should overwrite the relevant files, and then install UTX, Also do you guys think that its stupid to do all of this w/o a Terrain Mesh add yet, and start their first? You can install mesh later if you like. Its optional. but very desirable!! DIMITRI
June 16, 201213 yr Allright, thats what I thought as well but I took the safe route and uninstalled it first. I was worried cuz I hadnt made a backup of my texture file and I read that many people had issues trying to remove it, but this version came with a uninstallation utility so it was a breeze and a sigh of relief. Gonna install REX first cuz I cant wait lol. Thanks for your help.
