June 9, 201213 yr Hi. Searched "Pilot Voice" in the FS9 forums - no result. So in FS9 searched the fs9.cfg file, the aircraft.cfg file, the saved .flt file - and have set my default flight to use Pilot Voice 0, but when I open a different flight a different pilot voice is used (usually '7'). How do I set the pilot voice in ATC to use one voice, globally? (Where is the information on which pilot voice to use in any given flight stored?). Thanks, Martin Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
June 9, 201213 yr Within FS9 go to Settings/Air Traffic Control/ select Use A Pilot Voice (your choice of 9 voices.)
June 9, 201213 yr Author Unfortunately that doesn't seem to set the pilot voice for all future flights. I am continually having to do exactly as you suggested - flights always open with Pilot Voice 7, I want zero: I set it to 0 and all is OK for that flight, but next time I fly it's back to voice 7. June 9, 201213 yr Heck ... all I can offer in that case is to delete your present FS9 cfg. Let FS9, on next reboot, build a new version and hopefully it will 'take' the voice of your choice. Your chosen voice should become the default voice.
June 10, 201213 yr Author Thanks, but I daren't do that - it gives me a BSOD, probably as I have a complex graphics setup and the values are set in my FS9.cfg file. If the option for pilot voice is in the fs9.cfg file you should be able to locate the line and change it manually. I'll have another look.. M Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
June 10, 201213 yr Author OK, don't know how I missed this. The entry in the fs9.cfg file is like this: PilotVoice=262145 - I think this equates to Voice 7 I have changed it to this: PilotVoice=458753 Which is Pilot Voice 0 Now the setting seems to 'stick': no idea why it didn't when I set it via the FS9 interface. 'Temporary glitch' (get the technospeak!) maybe... Martin Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
June 15, 201213 yr I don't know how you hot those strange numbers. You should be able to open your fs9.cfg file and ammend it in a similar fashion:- [ATC] AutoOpenAirTrafficWindow=1 UsePilotVoice=1 ShowATCText=0 PilotVoice=0 vololiberista Super VC10 into LOWI with PF3 at a cinema near you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=298UDyNmgUA
June 16, 201213 yr Author As I set the different pilot voices in the fs9 interface, those are the numbers that then appear in the fs9.cfg file. Martin Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
June 16, 201213 yr As I set the different pilot voices in the fs9 interface, those are the numbers that then appear in the fs9.cfg file. Martin That in itself is not correct as the numbers should appear in the cfg. file normally as I have shown. Perhaps you should think of a different ATC programme like PFE. The default is unrealistic to put it mildly! vololiberista Super VC10 into LOWI with PF3 at a cinema near you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=298UDyNmgUA
June 17, 201213 yr I also have these numbers: [ATC] AutoOpenAirTrafficWindow=1 UsePilotVoice=1 ShowATCText=0 PilotVoice=524288 but my FS2004 keeps the settings (pilot #1) all the time. Harald Geyer Gründer der Messerschmitt Freunde Dresden v. V.
