June 29, 201213 yr I got my three monitor working.. 3 X 2405FPW. I had tweaked all the settings as per Word Not Allowed's amazing thread and what not and pretty much had it locked at 30FPS...on a single monitor. I was so happy with the performance ...finally it was smooth and joyous. Now, with my three monitor Surround mode, my FPS has dropped to sub 15FPS. But the wide view is spectacular and I can't go away from the 3 monitor either. In my old system, when I went to two 2X24" monitor I didn't lose much FPS from a single monitor. So I don't get why 3 monitors in surround mode I should lose so much FPS... All those views are already there in VRAM.. like I when I am in single monitor and I use the hat switch to look around real fast, its all there and the FPS doesn't drop when I use the hat switch. So what gives? :Hypnotized: IS it the driver? Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
July 2, 201213 yr Author I tested a 690 this weekend with three 1920x1080 monitors - both FULLSCREEN (NvSurround) and WINDOWED (not NvSurround). The FULLSCREEN performance measured in comparison to a 680 was 59 fps for a 690 (made sure SLI was enabled by viewing the "green bar" indicator) and 48 fps for a 680. Unfortunately, running three screens in WINDOWED mode results in a non multi-GPU configuration and therefore, isn't any faster than the 680. NOTE: The test point was the following: For example, with an eyepoint just above the Washington monument and initially looking at the White House, I get about 48 fps (Unlimited) with Scenery Very Dense, Autogen Dense, minimal water setting, and NO traffic (Zoom on all three monitors - center view, right, left 90 degrees off straight ahead- at .6). Frame lock set at unlimited. Vsync off PC=9700K@5Ghz+RTX2070 VR=HP Reverb| Software = Windows 10 | Flight SIms = P3D, CAP2, DCS World, IL-2, Aerofly FS2

This seems to work for some after there has been a hardware change. Back up the old one and you don't have anything to lose. gb. YSSY. July 7, 201213 yr Author Just wanted to report on some quick benchmarking with a 680 and a 690 driving three 1920x1080 screens. My primary mode of using FSX is with the WINDOWED mode and I wanted to clarify to everyone that in that mode, the 690 doesn't provide any acceleration over a 680. Only with the NVSurround mode enabled, and using FULLSCREEN do you get SLI acceleration. In that mode, I saw about a 20%->30% faster framerates with the 690 and that is with the three view concept that I prefer over the superwide view - i.e, as I have mentioned above, one center view, one left (90 degrees), and one right view with ZOOM = 0.6 (approx). I like to take looks to the sides and have all the buildings and trees look normal and not stretched. Particularly when I am using 50" HDTVs, I place myself "inside" the three screens and the view is very real. The framerates also were not significantly better than with my previous setup of a 580 driving two monitors and a 450 driving the third - it is nice though with the 680 to drive all three PC=9700K@5Ghz+RTX2070 VR=HP Reverb| Software = Windows 10 | Flight SIms = P3D, CAP2, DCS World, IL-2, Aerofly FS2

July 9, 201213 yr Author Danny, I have a 980X @4Ghz which gives about the same as a [email protected]. One of my test areas that give 40+fps with the above settings is ORBX PNW at Downtown Portland - with the freeware Portland. Vsync is off (minimal stutters) - generally running in windowed mode. The 690 running in FULLSCREEN (three monitors at 1920x1080) would get close to 60 fps. July 9, 201213 yr Nice. I may have to look at upgrading to a GTX680. I plan on using a 53" HDTV for the main screen and two 42" HDTVs for the side views. My current prcoessor is an I7 2500K at 4.5 ghz. I expect it will be enough to handle the load. Danny
