Stuttering ?...

Featured Replies

Has anyone else noticed severe stuttering today?

Without having changed anything on my system, all of a sudden and for the very 1st time since I installed MS FLIGHT on my PC, it started experiencing stutters on every flight, either Free, Mission, whatever...

Anyone around with the same problem?

If anything, I noticed increased smoothness. I decided it was all in my head, after wondering for a few minutes about stealth updates.

Performance can't simply change without some sort of patch... Was they game updated? What's the version number?

I don't think I saw a different version from the ... 29, so...

It's either something with my system, or (?)

Some times when I turn the camera to look out the side windows I get a little stuttering. This has been this way for some time. I have a high end 64bit system so I have the maximum setting on all but texture and water qualities that are high.

Did you change the refresh rate on your display to a higher number?

The problem may have been caused by a windows update. I had the same problem while using a NVidia 9800 graphics card. I had Flight running smoothly, at medium to high settings... windows updated and I began to experience minor stutters. Rather than uninstall the update I changed the graphics card up to a GTX 570.... That did the trick.

Well, I have a GTX450, and indeed a Windows update was installed yesterday :-(

I'll have to check it....

I was experimenting with the settings in Flight and found that when I checked Options/Graphics/ Vertical sync I got some very mild stuttering. Unchecked that box, and it went away, and I saw no tearing at all in the display.

Well, I have to report that I found the cause for my stutetring... It was really weird, and I have been so tired that I missed one very important piece of information....

I recently upgraded to the latest version of Nvidia drivers for my GTX 450. MS FLIGHT was installed, and it continued working perfectly...

In between I had to re-install MS FLIGHT, but didn't start it after playing the two mandatory initial missions and copying the "Carrer" backup...

Then, when yesterday I re-started MS FLIGHT I noticed the stutters, and they were very annoying!

Apparently when MS FLIGHT installed, something happened to the version of either DirectX or the drivers. Re-installing the Nvidia drivers solved the stutters and now everything is back to normal - smooth as silk :-)

Thnak you all for your suggestions ;-)
