Could I get some help Installing the project airbus

Featured Replies

I downloaded the PA 32X for fsx and I put all the files in proper folders. But not showing up that I installed any aircraft.

I put the aircrafts in the simobjects/airplanes folder.

Then when I open an aircraft folder it looks like this.

An I have no clue what to do with these notepad files.

It seems that you have downloaded the update package. Download the base package first, then install the package you have accordingly. The instructions should be there in a readme file. As for the notepad files, do exactly what is said--the base package will have aircraft.cfg files for each aircraft. Open these in notepad, and follow the instructions in the text files (replace/ add stuff as instructed).

The aircraft will NOT SHOW UP in FSX unless you find liveries for them, and install them correctly.

I hope this helps.

Total Distance Flown: 65,141.138 Nautical Miles (In reality-------I don't have THAT much time to waste on FSX).

Also, for as far as I know, you must have a normal "aircraft.cfg" in the aircraft's folder. Right now you all named them differently by putting "changes for the A3XX" behind it. I underst5and what you are trying to do, but you will have to make three folders, one for each A3XX type, each one with its own aircraft.cfg. And as The Red Baron said, you are mising folders. You must also have a sounds folder, texture folders (these contain the liveries), and an .air file. So, download the base package first, which contains all these folders and files that you are currently missing.

I'd recommend just downloading Francois Dore's excellent reworking of the PA 318/319/320/321, it's already as perfect as you can make the PA set of those. Just do an advanced search for his name on the file library and you'll find them.

For the 300, 310, 330, 340 and 380, you'll be wanting Thomas Ruth's airbuses, best idea there is to get the mega packs from simviation.

About the only thing worth that you'll need to do to any of these packs, is add a few more liveries, and possibly add in the vasFMC gauages - although I prefer the standalone vasFMC as it can all sit seperate from FSX on my second monitor.

Agree about the Thomas Ruth for the 300/310/330/340 but for the 380 you'll be wanting Project Airbus again won't you (although no FSX VC for the PA380)? He also does a rather good 727 as well.

Thomas did the PA 380, so yeah, it's the same thing :) I believe there's a version of his A380 out there that has his A340 VC merged in, not perfect, but better than nought.

Ah, didn't realise that, I stand corrected!

As you say, the 340 VC is better than nothing.

I'd recommend just downloading Francois Dore's excellent reworking of the PA 318/319/320/321

Francois made a panel that's optimised for our aircraft. He didn't rework any part of them.

Thomas compiled the A380 for FSX. He didn't model it. He didn't make the textures for it. And he didn't make the flight dynamics for it, either. So no, it's not the same thing.
