Ya. The Beaver has its place in Alaska I think, along with other aquatic mammals I think.

There are some waterfowl that should be mentioned as well.

The beaver has a load capacity of 2000 lbs

 

Ah, ok. I had thought it was less than that.

 

But I've only been up in one once. It is an iconic Alaskan bush plane and certainly merits a place, but I still think it will cone later, if it does come. The sheer size of Alaska calls for something faster to be available right out the gate.

 

That is assuming that only two new planes debut when Alaska launches. If it is three, then it does become a more likely possibility, IMO.

I used to stand next to Lake Hood, the largest floatplane base in the world and watch Beavers take off and land for hours. You could hear that big radial engine from the other aside of the lake.
