June 22, 201213 yr Where the maule outshines the beaver is in performance ... it stalls at around 40mph .... the beaver at near 60 mph Indeed. But in performance and load capacity? wW
June 22, 201213 yr Ya. The Beaver has its place in Alaska I think, along with other aquatic mammals I think. There are some waterfowl that should be mentioned as well.
June 22, 201213 yr The beaver has a load capacity of 2000 lbs Ah, ok. I had thought it was less than that. But I've only been up in one once. It is an iconic Alaskan bush plane and certainly merits a place, but I still think it will cone later, if it does come. The sheer size of Alaska calls for something faster to be available right out the gate. That is assuming that only two new planes debut when Alaska launches. If it is three, then it does become a more likely possibility, IMO.

You could hear that big radial engine from the other aside of the lake.
