June 23, 201213 yr No luck with the last attempt from Market. It gets to the point where is says the I'm using an old joystick configuration and would I like to reset it. It doesn't matter what I pick it CTDs on me. I deleted all the Flight files under my user name so I don't know way it says I'm using an old configuration. I deleted all the config files and started it again and when it crashed I started the VS debugger, (I'm a real life software developer), and it's showing Unhandled exception at 0x7606b9bc in Flight.exe: 0x0EEDFADE: 0xeedfade. When I continue it gets, Unhandled exception at 0x5e6f5fdf in Flight.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation writing location 0x0000f319. I find the second one interesting but it could be because of the first. In any case it looks like I'm out of the Flight business for now. ***UPDATE*** Well I'm back up and running and all I have to do is control configuring and graphics tweaking. Last night just prior to the crashing of Flight I had installed a web cam for another project I'm doing. I just never figured that the web cam driver would CTD Flight but it did. Last night I only uninstalled the web cam and when it didn't do anything I reinstalled it. Today I uninstalled it and then reinstalled Flight which did the trick. June 23, 201213 yr I just signed up in steam and tried to install from there but it still crashed on start. I've removed all things Flight I could find and I'm trying it through the market place again. The main thing I notice in the Steam version is that it loads MUCH slower... maybe because it has to negotiate with both Steam and GFWL? There's no place like this place, so this must be the place.
June 23, 201213 yr The only thing I have noticed so far since the "update" is that the "brakes" function, which I assigned to a button, performs the normal "S" key function (four different views). The toe brakes work, so I have that, but would like to have a button as I have had in the past. Toe brakes work on an axis, and the button works on, well a button, and they are on two different devices (CH Eclipse yoke and CH pedals. Any ideas? John Wingold
