June 22, 201213 yr 1. Lower and wildly varying FPS; seemingly independent of scenery I'm flying over, hence more stuttering. 2. No granular pitch repeat section in standardcontrols.xml anymore, but I can't work out whether it's more or less granular as default, as my panning speed is so slow I can't pan down and change trim to see how much it's changing by without losing a few hundred feet in alt as I can't see ouut of the window when i am looking down! 3. Joystick inputs seem to have gone mad (see point 2 above) I can trim the bird and then watch my yoke swing wildly to the right when I'm not touching it..Ths would obv disengage any AP (were there one ;wish: ) That's it so far; not bad... June 22, 201213 yr I'm also seeing stuttering that wasn't there before. I'll have to go through my settings to see if I can fix it. I lost some joystick mappings. Otherwise it installed just fine. Rag Tag Fleet Development Team Member. http://yankeeclippersmobile.com/forum
June 22, 201213 yr Regarding stuttering, although quite on the contrary MS FLIGHT update brought me an even smoother performance, specially nearby crowded city areas as well as dense forest, I did face stuttering last week when I re-installed MS FLIGHT on my other XP 32bit PC. Reinstalling the Nvidia drivers for my graphics card solved the problem. When I installed the patch yesterday, on both machines, no stuttering resulted, but if you want to give it a try, follow my suggestion. Of course, I don't know the consequences for other programs.... June 22, 201213 yr I have flown about 5 hours since putting in the update. My frame rates seem a bit better, and no stuttering or any other issues at all. The only thing I noticed is that some of my joystick buttons had to be reprogrammed. Flew around Honolulu today which is heavy scenery, and it was as smooth as silk. I flew my favorite so far aircraft , Vans RV 6. Love the visibility with Track IR in this aircraft.
June 22, 201213 yr I'm also seeing a small framerate drop in certain areas. Actually, seems to be when great distances with trees are visible, like looking across immense valleys. Makes sense, more geometry on screen. Anyhow, I am so totally happy with the TrackIR implementation, adjusting a few settings to get my framerate back is just fine. Does anybody know if there is anywhere on the forums that expressly goes over the graphics setting, what exactly each one does, and it's potential effect on the framerate? Sliders like 'texture resolution' are pretty straightforward, but 'sharpness' and 'scenery quality'...i can take some goo guesses, but they are a bit ambiguous. (I wanted to say vague but somehow the message windows kept changing it to **ue, LOL) Reinstalling the Nvidia drivers for my graphics card solved the problem. Ahh....so you are suggesting re-installing your drivers. Do you uninstall them and then reinstall them, or just reinstall them? Is that definitively what solved the problem...and if you don't mind my asking, which Nvidia drivers are you using? 301.42? Thanks in advance, I say it again, this forum is the best.
June 22, 201213 yr I wasn't even aware that there was a 3rd party add-on to Flight. I am wondering if the Flight team is not even considering interfacing or designing their updates to work with 3rd party add-ons. Remembering other addons for previous versions of FS, and the problems some cause, maybe they don't want to start trying to program for add on software. That's exactly their stated reason for no third-party SDK yet. They don't want to work themselves into corners they can't get out of without invalidating 3PD work. 3. Joystick inputs seem to have gone mad (see point 2 above) I can trim the bird and then watch my yoke swing wildly to the right when I'm not touching it. I was having this with my rudder. The plane kept yawing around uncommanded, so I switched to outside view to watch the rudder and it was snapping around from time to time. I increased the null zone on the config file and it seems to have stopped.

Is that definitively what solved the problem...and if you don't mind my asking, which Nvidia drivers are you using? 301.42? 301.42 indeed. I used the online auto-detection system and it identified my graphics card, downloaded and installed the drivers. I did not perform any uninstall. This was on a WinXP 32 bit SP3 system with Nvidia 9800 GTX graphics card. June 22, 201213 yr Not a bug per se, but noticing differences in the RV-6: Lowering/raising flaps is much quieter than before. Engine "spins up" much slower than before (like when you use the parking brake and go to 100% power just prior to takeoff). (Interesting side point being -- if they can make upgrades to the RV-6, they can develop cockpits for the warbirds. Just a thought...) There's no place like this place, so this must be the place.

June 22, 201213 yr One possible similarity amongst most of you is that many had done custom work on your CFG files. I wonder what yanking all custom CFG's (after backing up, of course) and letting them rebuild would do? We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... June 22, 201213 yr My toe brakes are locked in reverse Make sure that when you assign the toe brakes to the left and right axis, you tick the invert option on the lower left of that screen! Reassign the left and right axis and then tick that box before you click on OK. EDIT Check this post from mad dog: http://forum.avsim.n...50#entry2398844
June 22, 201213 yr First I have to explain that I have everything turned off with respect to UI. i.e. HUD off, Text Chat Off, Places of Interest Off, Subtitles Off. When flying I switch back and forth from using joystick to mouse control. When in mouse control, pressing T brings up the text chat. Prior to this update, pressing T would bring up the Text Chat in a window, I can type in it and everything. if I clicked anywhere on the screen with my mouse the text chat window would loose focus and then pressing T again would close it. Now, after the update, it seems the text chat still looses focus when clicking on the screen with it open but pressing T wont close it like it used to. I have to move the mouse over to the X in the upper right corner and after that, if I am flying in mouse control, immediately the plane will swing to left and up as if I just jerked the mouse over there. No Good. Please put it back the way it was. Thank you Regards; Fritz
June 22, 201213 yr Hi, I hope these are things I can fix but just haven't figured out how yet. The RV-6 tends to bank left continuously and neither roll nor bank trim works whatsoever. Roll and bank trim work with a vengence on the Icon but there's no visual indication or way to null. Also, prior to the update I had "Antilag" installed to reduce jerkiness in the view when looking 90 degrees . After update I removed it and it seems that it is no longer needed. Jim F. Edit update: Trim: Nose Left and Right works in the RV6.
