Help with fuel calculation

Hello everyone, I need some help with the fuel calculation here. I am trying to do a long haul flight from VHHH to EGLL with the pmdg747, I got the distance of the route, which is 5413 nm, however I know that the amount of fuel needed to carry also depend on the wind direction during cruising, as if is head wind, I will need more fuel. So how do I get the information on the speed and the direction of the wind? or how would you guys calculate the fuel to carry on board?

I use Active Sky. With that you can load your flightplan in AS and it will calculate the average Head/Tail wind.

The 747-400 burns approx 12t of fuel per hour of flight. Add 1t for taxi, you also need to allow for holding time,alternate and extra fuel say about 10-15t depending on what your alternate airport is. For EGLL it is EGKK (about 20 mins from EGLL). Add or take fuel until the remaining figure in the FMS is about 10-15t. You can also use this tool http://fuel.aerotexas.com/index.php but it is not as precise or technical as say FSBUILD
