You can also take Carenado and 3rd party livery patterns and repaint and renumber them. You may need to take selected areas of the Carendado white textures to paste over existing tail/registration numbers during the process. I use the sim world standard DXTbmp program to pass the textures to and from Photoshop. I have not yet attempted to learn how to lay my own graphics pattern designs onto a blank texture, but all of the Carenado models I have include a blank (white) texture.

Hello fppilot !

I am quite familiar with reregistrating the fuselages by copy/paste textures etc and using dxtbmp , but can you please tell me how you use existing liveries and change only the colours of the stripes like N903TT ?

Many thanks in advance!

Best regards,

Andy,

I use Photoshop and use the paint bucket took to change the color. Most other paint programs have similar tools. Some stripes have vague endpoints, so I use the paintbrush or pencil tools with fine and very fine points to paint with the same color. There are cases on some liveries where say a black stripe comes to an end against or into a black border that is not a part of the stripe. I ran into that problem on the engine cowl and the top of the tail on N5590T. I ended up leaving those areas black. You will know it as when you use the paint bucket tool the color will bleed out onto the border or background. If that happens you simply undo that step, then use a line tool and draw a line across the end of the pattern. That creates a dam that prevents the bleed through. Then use the paint bucket tool again.
