Boeing 747-400 gets fire in FSX?

Featured Replies

Hello, Guys!

When ever I press F4 for full thrust to B747-400 to fly then at some times, it gets fire but in the end it takes off well and lands well but still fire and smoke remain comes out of plane. Even I don't know which part of the plane gets fire. What's the reason? Sorry I couldn't take many pictures but one I've while landing at Islamabad Airport.

I set at start, Speed=200nm, Flaps=33, and no arm spoilers at all, all engines ON, etc.....

This is normal pollution from 747. Fly more fuel efficient plane to save planet.

I have gotten same kind of effect with one other 747 addon after a tailstrike, are you sure that your planes tail did not strike ground when taking off?

I hope that's a joke, the 747 doesn't make smoke like that. Now if it were an old B-52 on the other hand...

To the OP, that looks like the POSKY 747 to my eyes. Try pressing the "I" key on your keyboard and see if it disappears. If it does good, if not then I would just delete those effects or strike them out using // in the aircraft .cfg file.

I assure you, my plane doesn't strike its tail on runway while take off.

Ya it's a posky plane.

It's interesting that you have 4 smoke trails, from 3 engines and the APU, but the #1 engine isn't smoking. Whatever it is, it's not a general problem with posky -400s, as I was flying one of them yesterday and only had the normal contrails.

hello,

it is not just smoke in the picture. Taking a closer look, you'll notice sparks slightly above the right engines. So it sure seems like a fire.

Maybe some effect files are corrupt or overwitten...

Not even the 747-100 made smoke like some older airliners. You'd never notice any smoke at all in normal conditions with a -400.

I just realised something... scary. The 747-400 has been around for longer than the gap between the -100 and -400 was (1969-1989).

Don't want to question your flying skills, but are you really sure your plane's tail didnt hit the ground on take-off? The sparks look pretty much like it.

The smoke is surely wrong here, because it's coming out not only from Engines and APU, but also from the top of the vertical stabilizer. Probaly some of the effects have gotten messed up.

As Zboe already pointed out: Go to the aircraft.cfg, and put // in front of every line in the "Effects" category of it.

Ya I'm pretty sure that my plane's tail doesn't strike the ground and probably I've to change aircraft.cfg file.
