Fuel flow

Featured Replies

B55 fuel flow seems wonky with the new SP. Way too high. Haven't tried the E yet. Anyone else seeing this?

Some additional info here - take off at sea level sends fuel flow past redline at initial power settings, while climb at at 25"/2500 RPM gives flows of around 22 GPH/side. Did a quick flight with the E55 and flows seemed to be roughly in the correct range.

I'm seeing this too on the B55. Have no ideia if it's real numbers...

From Bernt Stolle:

You are correct. That one apparently went unnoticed during beta testing. Fuel flow is definitely too high.

If you know how to edit the cfg file this would be an easy fix.

Just change the fuel flow scalar from 1.0 to 0.8 in the [GeneralEngineData] section.

fuel_flow_scalar= 0.8

Furthermore performance is a tad too high because it was intended to get rid of the infamous FSX carb icing problem automatically but that feature didn't make it into the release version.

For 100% correct performance you need to press H (or any other key you assigned for carb heat) which reduces the performance to the correct level.

Great, thank you!

Hi,

Can you please confirm with Bernt do we do this adjustment to both B55 and E55?

Or B55 only?

many thanks

Had a chance to try the changes suggested by Bernt for the B55 and they do seem to bring things in line. Fuel flow now seems in the correct range and, indeed, using the "h" key does seem to cut back power in an interesting reverse carb heat bug sorta way. :-) While the power of the original (now the E55) was fun, and the speed is everything crowd (you know who you are!) will probably prefer it, the new B55 feels awfully good to me, and more like what I recall in a real-world B55.

The B55 has now become very much the plane I was hoping it would be when I first heard it was coming. Very nice indeed.

Congrats to all the Milviz team!

Scott

Do we need to update both? Or just B55 only?
