July 6, 201213 yr I'm hoping help will not be too far away for me. I have to say straight off how impressed I have been with LINDA and how it has made things so much easier and enjoyable combined with the VRinsight switch panel. But, for some reason it has decided to start playing silly games. It first showed itself with the occasional toggle switch refusing to work, then it would work then another would stop. It has continued to get worse. I then thought it was just the B2 Islander I was having trouble with, but that was not the case and it seems to be happening with all my aircraft now. I have just finished a flight in the Realir Duke and all the switches were all over the place. Nothing worked as it should, it was like everything was confused. A restart of LINDA does not rectify things, only occasionally. At first I thought it may have been the switch panel, but the issues have also started with my Hotas Warthog. It's now a situation where it doesn't perform as it should on every flight. Amongst all the issues I have also got an error message... any help will be very much appreciated, cheers fellas. July 6, 201213 yr Hello Howard, from my little knowledge I would tend to advice a reinstall of LINDA (backing up first). But I would also firstly advice you to wait for Artems response here, hope he will read this the next days (I will try to drop him a note) Guenter Steiner -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Betatester for: A2A, LORBY, FSR-Pillow Tester --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
July 6, 201213 yr Author Ah, thanks for the reply Guenter. I was going to do a reinstall but I thought it best to discuss the issue with yourself as I want to ensure I backup the necessary files to avoid losing all my assignments. I will wait to hear from Artems and yourself soon. Thanks again for your help. July 9, 201213 yr Commercial Member Howard, this error message could appear occasionally on some systems. Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce it myself, so I cannot fix it. My opinion that it depends on how the USB/HID subsystem is working. You could try to unplug USB devices to check if it eliminates the problem. Well, if I unplug the switch panel, sometimes it corrects the issue for a short time and sometimes it doesn't! I'm unsure why everything has been fine and then for no apparent reason I now have this problem. Is this something that could be rectified with a reinstallation of LINDA? If so, what files do I need to backup so I don't lose my current configurations, which have taken me ages to produce for the different aircraft. What do you suggest is my next option? Is it possible to reinstall LINDA without losing all the configurations for each of my aircraft and if so, how do I do this? thanks... July 12, 201213 yr One thing to try is, go into device manager and make sure all the USB hub devices have the power management facilities switched off. i.e. right click on the hubs select properties > power management > untick "allow windows to power down this device when not in use" or words to that effect. You may have to recheck these options once in a while as Windows Driver updates seem to reactivate the power management. Cheers, Andy.

July 12, 201213 yr Sorry Howard, all I can suggest is that you backup the whole LINDA folder to another location then try a reinstall from the beginning like Guenter suggested. Cheers, Andy.

Hi Andy, I've preempted that suggestion and only 15 minutes ago done just that. Fingers crossed, but it seems to be working OK! Thanks for all your help. July 13, 201213 yr Author Good luck :p0503: Hi Andy, it looks like the same problem has reappeared. In fact I gave you wrong information before, I reinstalled the update, not the original program. It looks like I will have to reinstall the whole thing, which is not a problem, but it could be a pain in the arse if I have to go through all my aircraft and reassign things. So Andy, is there a way of saving all my assignments and do a clean reinstall? Help appreciated, cheers... July 13, 201213 yr Linda-cfg is where all your custom control assignments are saved for each aircraft profile (I think). So after a fresh install test LINDA properly and confirm its working after you have made some fresh assignments on one aircraft i.e. dont use the backups yet. Then after you have confirmed its not crashing anymore try copying back in your backed up config folder and see if it crashes then, if it does you can then starting to hunt down the suspect config file/s. Cheers, Andy.
