July 7, 201213 yr Im really not sure which one to use. Is one more popular than the other? Which one are most FSX users flying on? Jerad Burns
July 7, 201213 yr I tried FSInn...twice...<shudders>. Squawkbox was considerably simpler and consistent for me. Just don't launch it inside of FSX. Launch it as a standard app from the start menu. July 7, 201213 yr Either is fine. Some people hate SB4, some hate FSInn. I use SB4 because FSInn crashes for me... They're both popular. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
July 7, 201213 yr FSINN for me, since it supports multiplayer aircraft animations and dynamic lighting. The models also aren't the horrible paper models that comes default with SB. It may be more of a pain to setup, but once it is it provides you with so much info. AJ Pongress
July 7, 201213 yr Author I have yet to come across an ATC.. Ive been flying all over from california to phoenix and havent heard anything lol. isnt it kinda pointless if theres no ATC? Jerad Burns
July 7, 201213 yr It's kind of tough. I've flown with VATSIM a few times...would love to fly more. Anyway, the larger airports get the most air time. When I'm not heavy in training I look to see who's on and mostly fly in the west. Seems to me that Minneapolis and Seattle seem to have the most coverage...very active folks. LAX and SFO also get good coverage. At night the coverage increases but, for me, I don't get to fly much at night. Quite often I start out with control to have them sign off and you're suddenly trying to figure out what to do. I keep eying VOXATC and Radar Contact but just haven't gone there yet. There's also an ATC service that guarantees coverage (pretty good hours) that some people really like but you have to pay for. I'd just as soon join the VATSIM folks if they're around. If they could provide some sort of consistency (while still keeping it fun), it might be that they would find more sim pilots. Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. You need VatSpy to see who's online: http://www1.metacraft.com/VATSpy/ For US flying... popular hours are weekday evenings but mostly weekend and especially every friday night there is FNO Friday Night Ops - a certain city fully staffs up and there's a large fly in. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
July 7, 201213 yr Vroute is also good to see who's online, and then you get a route database. Lee Sent using Tapatalk
