July 12, 201213 yr Still waiting for the 3.0 promised land? Daz my man, we are talking about FSX here, IMHO 2.0 is the bottleneck. 3.0 may not be the holy grail for other games but I am almost 100% sure it will make a big difference with FSX when everything is implemented properly by all manuf. We will have to wait and see don't we?

We will have to wait and see don't we? You know PCIe 3.0 has been available for months already, right? And that there's no sign of a PCIe bottleneck in FSMark11 for example? FSMark11 even uses a default A/C that are not so hard on the CPU and it's still CPU limited. In every other app / game where you are limited by PCIe, you get an obvious effect on FPS. FSX is no different. The PCIe bottleneck is nowhere to be seen here, I overclock and performance scales, personally I don't need proof beyond that. Oh, and if you think there's going to be a PCIe 3.0 "2.0" revised and improved that will change everything, I can only say that IMO you're just setting yourself up for disappointment
