Airport Enviroment Upgrade..

Featured Replies

I just had to come and say thank you to Chris Arrington for his AEU Ver 6. I had to reinstall my FS9 becasue I built a new machine. And it just struck me after I installed it, just how good it makes your airports look. It's beautiful!! I did a flight from Seattle to KPDX Portland, and the difference is substantial!! Night Lighting just makes you say wow on aproach.Along with the water changes I have made, this sim has a different feel now!!

It's definitely one of those "must have" FS addons, because it improves the appearance of *all* airports. I think it even includes a new "detail texture" - the grainy textures that FS overlays on top of all scenery textures to improve sharpness at low altitudes.

it's unfortunate how much of a hit it takes off my computer with the upgrade installed, because it does look absolutely amazing. Oh well! The taxi and runways are top notch and thats all I run

Hello,THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THIS FABULOUS UPGRADE! I installed this ontop of my FLY Tampa upgrades and my FSGENESIS scenery. My sim looks 100% better at the airports and I never enjoyed night flying as much as I do now!FYI - I have had NO degredation in my display performance (locked at 20fps)Thanks again,Ron Sagel Near KCHS

Hi,I gave thanks to Chris soon after AEU6 was posted to the library because I found it to be great upgrade for FS2004 also! I do get a little micropause when I'm panning my view and an airport come within view during the panning. But it is very slight, and what it does for the default airports is well worth the little micropause, imo. ;)For (more) night textures how about Chris Willis's fs2k4gnight and Chris Arrington's fs2night.zip! I installed both in that order, so I have a mixture I guess. Seems like really great stuff if you ask me. :) I'm still using litroads.zip for the roads and highways though, which is also a very cool addition. Thanks again to Chris Willis, Chris Arrington, and Avcomware(TV) for this awesome texture work!Cheerio,Jim

Hi Michael,You could very well be right. Both packages have quite a few files in them. I didn't look to see if Chris Arrington's fs2night.zip, which is truly a great texture set, has every single file that Chris Willis's fs2k4gnight.zip has. I do know that I'm using Chris Willis's 'spotlight.bmp' as Chris Arrington's package does not have that file. ;-)Cheers,Jim

Hi Alex,"it's unfortunate how much of a hit it takes off my computer with the upgrade installed".....Have you tried installing the 'Express Edition' - aeu_ex.zip ?These seem to work very well on my system.Mike

I really must hop on this thread. The AEU and FS2Nite add ons improve night flying ten fold. A wonderful addition by a wonderful freeware author! Best RegardsBoone,[email protected]"Flying a plane is no different from riding a bicycle. It's just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes."
