Best AI Aircraft Add-on?

Featured Replies

What is the best AI Add-in for FSX? What software has the nicest Aircraft quality? Thanks!

In my opinion, ultimate traffic 2.

Others will say My Traffic X.

World of AI is there free, but I like UT2 because it has real schedules. Just dont try to use it with VoxATC.

Thanks Dan! but How is the quality of the planes? Do you have some screen shots?

In terms of quality, I think most of WoAI is better than MyTraffic, and on par with UT2.

Good answer.

I wish someone like Al (since he's a good reviewer) would put together some type of comparison graph listing the features of WOAI and all the payware packages and then sticky it since this is one of the most often asked questions, with the same people giving the same answers every time :-)

Guess I might as well give my answer to the OP while I am at it. I have only used WOAI prior to UT2 comming out and am extremely satisfied with UT2, although I still run a bunch of WOAI at the same time to fill in anything that UT2 has left out. Although you can import extra AI and flight plans into UT2, I have chose to skip that step and just run my extra AI in the old fashioned .bgl format.

One good thing about UT2 is that since its sold thru Flight1, you get a 30 day trial period to try it and if your not satisfied with it you can return it for a no questions asked refund. Can't beat that since you can try it for yourself without having to rely on the myriad of opinions about which is best and if you don like it you can get WOAI for free. If you dont like that get the latest version of MTX.

I think I will go with UT2.....

My Traffic X 5.4a professional is very good, much better than UT2 in my opinion, much more liveries. No ugly daedalus libraries. The developer also keeps it very up to date with livery updates and reflecting new mergers in the industry, unlike UT2.

If you just want a lot of traffic around the world and don't care about all routes being exactly real world ones, get Mytraffic. A lot of its flights are generated ones, but you will see mostly right or at least believable airlines in right airports, though especially many smaller ones are not up to date in terms of liveries and models, they have forgotten some that don't even fly anymore too. Sometimes you might spot airlines in completely wrong places such as KLM 747 in North Korea... Myself I use mytraffic as I usually fly in areas with many less known airlines that probably aren't covered in UT2.

I have UT2 and I really like the flexibility of it. It does require a bit of work to make it look correct though, downloading missing liveries and hunting at airports for any remaining "Daedalus" planes. The good thing though is that if you find an airport which is too empty for your liking, it is pretty easy to add schedules for airlines and instantly multiply the traffic there.

For example, I recently flew to Helsinki and was a bit disappointed with the lack of Finnair there (only 3-4 planes), so I downloaded their schedules from Avsim, and now the airport is full to the brim.

Updating and changing the liveries and models is pretty simple operation as well once you get a hang of it, and gives a good variety to what you see around.
