July 17, 201213 yr I own RC4, PFE, and VOXATC. VOX is by far the most realistic for my money as it assigns you SIDS/STARS based on current weather conditions. I know PFE will do that, but it basically requires you to create a database or just pick your own on take-off and landing. My one big complaint with VOX is the way it handle traffic. I flew a flight from LAX last night and another from Heathrow this morning. In both cases, there was plenty of traffic at the gates but once I was airborne, there was little to no traffic in the surrounding airspace. Yes, you hear some chatter between ATC and traffic, but visually it's non existent. This is one area I'd like to see improved if/when there's an update.
July 18, 201213 yr Yeah, it's unfortunate that one of the best ATC programs out there also empties the skies. If they can fix this, I'll buy it. From my chats with the developer, I seem to recall that traffic is spawned at the airport you start at and, if a plan is filed, the destination airport. It makes all other nearby airports a ghost town. And since I do 90% of my flying as VFR sans flight plan, it's a definite bummer. UT2 or MTX with default ATC at least has some very active airports I can just hop around to.
July 18, 201213 yr I gave up on VOX ATC for one reason beyond the traffic interface. I truly enjoyed having the radio-in to open and close flight plans. However, I always remember when VOX would say "last aircraft, please repeat..." If I just clicked my button assigned to microphone, it would accept a presumed response even without me speaking. July 21, 201213 yr I understand that VOXatc generates traffic of a certain distance within a radius from your aircraft. I forget the exact distance but thats why we see plenty at airports but hardly anything once in the air, especially at high altitudes. I've said it many times before but a fix for this in the coming update would be great. That said, on my recent flights i have had a few aircfraft appear on planG whilst at cruising alt so i can only think they must have been quite close. Kind Regards Simon.
July 21, 201213 yr Hey guys but VOX does recognize UT2 or MyTraffic AI aircrafts or generates its own traffic, really I don't understand how does it works. Thanks Riccardo OS: Windows 10-64 bit, CPU: i7-7700K @4.20 GHz, GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 G1 8GB GDDR5, RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 32GB 3000MHz, MB: MSI Z270
July 21, 201213 yr VOX generates its own traffic. There is a bridge program you can run if you have UT2 so VOX can read the UT2 traffic information and I believe VOX can use MTX traffic out of the box, too. It won't use the time tables from these programs since it's just using the traffic not the AI. That's why in this and other threads people have disappointment when VOX won't spawn traffic at other airports since unless you want non-controlled traffic doing its own thing, you can only have the traffic that VOX spawns.
July 22, 201213 yr I use Traffic X which i think is ideal for VOXatc as its usually cheaper than UT2 and because we lose the real world timetables in VOXatc, UT2 loses one of its drawcards, traffic X does the job of populating the skies (cough cough) i mean airports :) Kind Regards Simon.
