July 24, 201213 yr On the P8Z77-V MB should I plug both of the the CPU Power Connector? On the P8Z77-V MB should I plug both of the the CPU Power Connector? There is only one CPU power connector which should be in the top left corner of your motherboard. It's got 8 pins, Most power supplies have got a 4+4 pin CPU power connector, which is basically two seperate 4-pin CPU power connectors, so it can also be used for motherboards with only a 4-pin CPU connector. Well your motherboard has got 8-pin, so make sure both 4-pin power connectors are plugged into that 8-pin connector on the top left of your motherboard. Arjen Vandervelde
July 24, 201213 yr 1 - My GTX 670 2 - 4+4 Pin for the CPU 3 - My Corsair RAM 2X4GB 1.5V 1600MHz. Or should it go in the Blue slots?
July 24, 201213 yr On the P8Z77-V MB should I plug both of the the CPU Power Connector? Your memory should go on the Blue slots only. Read the manual. IF you had been using it from the black slot that answers lot of your problem The 2 in your diagram is the CPU 8 pin power and the 24pin MB power which are seperate from your PCI-E power that is to be used exclusively for the Video card. I posted this yesterday. Another thing you can do is The correct slot is the second slot from the left. Not the left most. Its the blue colored slot..not the black. For two memory stick you should not be using the black slots.. Just checking to see if you got that right. Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter

So what males you think that my CPU is bad? Because when mt PC would turn on for 1 sec then off then on again after 4 seconds and stay on but didnt post there were no red light for CPU or RAM
July 24, 201213 yr So what males you think that my CPU is bad? Be Because I can't find anything else wrong with what you were doing. So that was a possibility; But answer me this.. Which colored slot you had the memory? IF you were using the black slot then there was nothing wrong with any of the component...solution would have been to just insert it in the nblue slot and it would have worked. After I posted that yesterday you did not say anything. So I thought you had it right.. and then you had already done thw swap test of the memory so it could not have been the memory ...its very rare that both the memory would have been bad, Its unlikely the MB to go bad like that too. July 24, 201213 yr Ah! so you already tried the blue slots and still wouldn't post. OK When I bricked my CPU, I had something similar...the LED would go around like that and wouldn't post. But sometimes the CPU LED would be lit too. Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter

July 24, 201213 yr OK..be patient.. When you get your replacement MB. Try with that (Be very careful...first check there are no bent pins on the MB. Do not remove the plastic cover thing on the CPU cover. Place the CPU gently and make sure it is sitting properly. Now remove the plastic cover close and push that CPU place holder pin to lock it) A broken pin could have damanged your MB too. (When removing CPU, Put the plastic cover first and then remove the cpu. check pins and close cover right away.) To be honest, this is the part I hate during PC Build. Putting the CPU in that MB. I have clumsy fingers. and if that doesn't do it. RMA your CPU. Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter

July 26, 201213 yr Hi, So I installed the nre PSU, RAM and MBO and everything works fine! So after being on the PC for 1hr30 it just shuts down......next morning i turn it on and it take a couple try to boot and then it says overclocking failled press f1 tu run defaults.....i never touched anything!!!! Is it just running too hot?? Should I RMA my CPU? Here are some info....
July 26, 201213 yr Do you have the TPU switch on? If you do, (a red light means, its turned on) turn it off and try again. Manny Yes..you do. I see the 4.2 Ghz OCed. And your temp is too high. What cooler do you have? That means, the TPU is not giving you a decent oc. Maybe your memory is not the best. But your CPU is fine... everything looks ok. So relax. Except maybe your memory you bought is not in the MB vendor list and your cooling doesn't seem that great,,, So for now, Turn off the TPU and test your PC for a few days until you feel comfortable that nothing is broken. or when it does that hit f1 and then hit f10 to save (don't change anything in BIOS) it could boot inspite of the "OC Fail". I have had this happen a few times.. intitially I was fiddling with the BIOS. eventually it was false alarm so many times...so when I do F1 and then F10,it starts Windows just fine. Then read up on OCing your MB. and OC manually. That would be my suggestion. Others here can comment as well. You do have both your memory stick on the blue slot..and not the black slot..right? I am now convinced your earlier problem was you had those sticks on the black slots and it worked for a while..and when you turned on the TPU (Auto OC), it would not post...because the memory was in the wrong slot. July 26, 201213 yr My TPU is OFF.....So my CPU is OCed to 4.2?? How I never touched anything?? How do I leave it @ 3.4? I dont want to OC it. Why is it doing it automatically?
July 26, 201213 yr When you received your MB, was there a seal on the package? I am suspecting that the RMA board was already OCed. So no problem. This is what you do. 1) use the small jumper to reset the BIOS... read the manual to see how to reset your bios. you have to move the jumper to the two pins adjucent to it and leave it like that for 5 seconds..it would reset and then you move it back. If that doesn't do it, remove the CMOS battery for 2 hrs or so and then put it back and try again. 2) Hit F1 when it tells you to (or keep hitting <del> on startup) and once in BIOS, click on "AI Tweaker" and see what the multiplier there is..if there is a number there (41. Your CPU-Z shows a multi of 41) , just turn it back to Auto http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099 If those two don;t work then I am suspecting the TPU switch on that MB is stuck on on..in which case you may have to RMA it again. or lets OC it manually with increasing the voltage.... But do the above two first and lets see. Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
July 26, 201213 yr Manny, So I did number 2 and now my CPU only goes up to 3.8 GHz......I hope to be all set now!! :) I also ordered this CPU cooler....Is that a good one? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099
