Also it says overclocking failled..... I never touched anything?!?!? I can i clear or rest my motheboard? Thanks

Tried taking out the a stick of RAM and now my PC turns on for 1 sec then turns off and then turns back on again but no beep or nothing....Iv'e tried different memory slot. I put the ram back like how it was and this still happens. ;(

After talking with some tech it seems that my RAM is 1.65V and my CPU can only support 1.5V.....I will need to get new RAM but my question is that is my Motherboard fried??

I think your tech is on the right track -- I think memory is the problem -- but you can't rule out other things. Get some 1.5v mem sticks that are on the QVL (Qualified vendors list) available on ASUS web site. Then go from there. Memory is cheap right now.

Remember, your motherboard has a MEM OK! button near the DIMM slots. Read your motherboard manual about this. However, I think if you replace those 1.65 sticks with a pair of 1.5v sticks from the QVL, your machine will post.

Thanks Mace! The only reason why i think it might me the RAM is because when I turn on the PC it comes on then 1 sec after it turns off and 4 sec after it comes back on.....Thats not RAM related I don't think.....

That MB has no sound code...but it has those red LEDs which tell you where the problem could be.

Send an e-mail to Asus and ask them if that particular memory is compatable with that MB. There is nothing wrong with using 1.65v memory I have the GSKILL Trident which is 1.65 and works just fine.

And if your MB has 1.5v set in BIOS for that memory (BTW..are you sure about this?:) and that memory requires 1.65v then thats the most likely issue which you should be able to solve by going into BIOS and changing the voltage for that memory to 1.65. Try this first.

I don't believe you have fried your MB or your CPU.

I don't understand this

"After talking with some tech it seems that my RAM is 1.65V and my CPU can only support 1.5V....."

Your memory voltage is set in a different place in the BIOS than where you set your CPU voltage. For now, since you have not OCed, do not change anything in the CPU voltage and leave that alone.

Just find the VRAM voltage in the BIOS and see what is currently there. if its not 1.65v then change it to 1.65v IF its already set for 1.65v then return your memory and get the Gskill or something that is compatible with that MB. Go to ASUS web site and get a list of memory that that MB supports.

See where it says DRAM voltage 1.65v in yellow. thats where the RAM voltage is set.

My PC won't boot so how can I access the bios....I will try some test RAM tonight thats a little older DDR3 but thats 1.5V

Another thing you can do is

ASUS%20P8Z77-V%20Deluxe%20BIOS%2007%20-%20AI%20Tweaker%20XMP.png

See AI overclock tuner.... Click on that and it would give you an option to change it to X.M.P. Pick one of the profiles for that... don't do anything else...save with f10 and test that out. That XMP Profile would have a very precise profile for that memory..including the right voltage settings.

Other tech folks here can add or confirm this.

Don't you see anything on the screen? you mean to say that its not POSTING at all? POST is the system starts the steps of the BIOS where you have an opportunity to hit DEL key to get into the BIOS before it starts up Windows. IF you can't even post, Hmm..then you may have some issues... which LED does it stay on? There is one LED for CPU fail and then one for Memory fail and one for Video Fail.. Check your MB (after reading your MB Manual..there is a diagram in there) and let us know which LED is on.

To test if its a failed memory... you use only one stick at a time.. Remove the right memory stick and leave the left one only. Try booting with that.. If that doesn;'t work remove the left memory stick and insert the second one on the left slot. (BTW... make sure you have the memory stick on the correct slot.. The correct slot is the second slot from the left. Not the left most. Its the blue colored slot..not the black. For two memory stick you should not be using the black slots.. Just checking to see if you got that right.

I get no beep or nothing. I will try new RAM tonight. The good news is that the CPU and VIDEO LED light dont come on. Only the DRAM. And somethimes no lights at all come on....

Try a CLEAR-CMOS with the jumper

So I tried different RAM and same thing....Power on for a sec then shut off then about 4 sec after that powers on and all I hear are 2 really small beep.....I'm going to swap out the Motherboard and PSU to be safe. One of the two should be the problem right?

If you are going to wap out the MB, swap out the CPU as well. or swap out the MB and see if you have the same issue still and then swap out the CPU so you know for sure which was the bad one,

I have already made and RMA for the RAM MBO & PSU. I really hope that will fix it.....I really think its the MBO that was fried......

Just be vrery careful when putting that CPU in and taking it out.. Those pins are so fragile...they can very easily be bent.

I am still thinking your CPU is the one that is bad. Oh well.. Once you get your new MB, you can eliminate if its the CPU or the MB

I know its frustrating during the build. But it will all work out. I had to do this twice and I got it all working the third time. Mostly it was my goofups., First, I shoved the wrong power thingi and literally smoked the whole thing.. the next time.. I entered 1.9 volt meant to enter 1.19v and bricked the CPU. I wanted to throw the whole thing out the window. But now I got it all working, I am going...what was that all about. :)

On the P8Z77-V MB should I plug both of the the CPU Power Connector?
