Infinite Flight or X-Plane for iPad?

Featured Replies

Which one do you prefer? I'm looking for a sim for my iPad 2, preferably one with airliners.

Hi!

The only game I've played on an Ipad was Angry Birds but that was fun! I'd be interested to know how you control the aircraft with an Ipad. Can you really do it by touchscreen easily or do they have USB ports for a joystick?

I had a couple of looks on Youtube.

Here's one of Infinite Flight (if you haven't seen it already):

And one of Xplane:

Both seem to have airliners. The scenery of LA in the Infinite Flight video looks pretty nice. The scenery ot the city in the first part of the Xplane video looks much less nice but if you forward to 5.10 the scenery is stunning.

Sorry not to have any personal experience. I'm still in the desktop age!

Many thanks.

Pierre

I do have X-Plane for iPad. A quick and dirty look at Infinite Flight suggest that it offers more features and more polish than the X-Plane offering. I'll be checking it out.

Hi, I'm one of the developers of Infinite Flight.

Let me know if you've tried the app yet, we love to get feedback from the community :)

We're currently working on our next update which will include the Embraer E-Jets (17x and 19x) and an F-16!

Happy Landings!

I agree with Zach, infinite flight looks like it has more advanced aircraft controls. X plane is good however and I do own this. It has features such as shuttle flights and B52 aircraft drop and carrier landings. Matter of preference I think.

Will definitely give infinite flight a try at some point.

i currently use infinite flight on my ipad and after a few weeks owning the software am beggining to get bored with the lack of interaction with other aircraft as well as the 2 dimensional runways and no airport buildings.

infinite flight is missing something quite a few bits that will make it as a piece of software that is unbeatable !

as for x plane 9 im still not struck on the application itself as it looks resourse heavy as well as graphicaly mediocre and at £6.99 for the ipad its not cheap ?
