Avionics Modeling in X-Plane v10

Featured Replies

Do you have this exaggerated experience in add-on aircraft, too?

Timmer, since I am now dedicated to Xplane10, I certainly will. I am just trying to decide where to start. There are certainly many good options, and I was considering the freeware DR-400 by xpfr, which I know from RL :-)

Yet, I did try fancy add-ons not on my pc but at a friends highly featured "games machine"... He's running xp9 and xp10 with all add-ons you can think of, and he actually writes reviews of this add-ons for a well known simulation site in Europe. So, on one of my visits to his cockpit I was able to test some of the best add-ons, and find out that, only regarding single or twin prop aircraft:

- If it's a counter-rotating model (the Seneca i.e.) then no problems at all

- If it a clockwise rotating single or twin, then even if it shows just sensible left bank at full power (i.e. takeoff), when the throttle(s) are retarded

the planes start banking to the right. This is even more evident if they're designed to overcome prop effects on cruise, including those having canted engines and/or vertical stabs because then, and correctly in this case, when the throttle(s) are retarded these will necessarily have an effect, that sums up to the default buggy one....

I only have the demo right now and it is a pretty early one. Months old. My question is this. Can I update to a beta with it? Or get a newer version by deleting and redownloading?

Reason is, I have a pretty robust computer and the enhancements I am reading about are clearly not in my version so I can't really tell the current state for me and my system.

I am looking to buy it in a couple weeks but really would like to see some of these improvements for myself.

Thanks for any replies.

Yep, I had downloaded and installed the demo for v10.05, and then used the installer/updater to get beta6.
