im sure i saw somewhere a way to manually update some of the information of the fmc. i want to add sids and stars that are not in my fmc, and cant find the explenation .

The best way is to buy a so-called "cycle" from navigraph.com (or Aerosoft, once they start selling theirs)

or AIRAC from Navigraph too.................

You can go into your SID/STARS folder and manually enter them but that is a fair bit of work, especially if you have a lot you enter.

Go into folder (whatever drive/location FSX is installed in)

 

\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\PMDG\SIDSTARS

 

You will see tons of notepad files names after the ICAO airport code (eg LLBG) open them with notepad and edit as you wish, may take a little time to write the correct format but it is pretty clear by looking at how others are written. Also remember to back them up as they will get overwritten if you decide to update your navdata at a later date.

In your FSX directory there's a PMDG folder. In that folder there should be Navdata (or similar). All of the files are in there. The SID/STARS are by airport, and the best way to get a feel for how they're set up is to use what's in there already as an example.
