August 8, 201213 yr Hi. i had a engine failure today out miles out to sea, i thought i would make the best and follow real world procedures, after trying and trying to get eng 2 back on line i could not (having turned back) i decided to cut my loses and do a fuel dump to save wait, and up my chances of getting back to the airport, but did could not find out how. so i had to use the fmc fuel manager and select how much fuel i wanted left. please help
August 8, 201213 yr Burn it or if it's a must, perform a over weight landing (if over weight). Jay Vorkapic

August 8, 201213 yr To burn fuel fast, set full flaps, lower the gear and deploy the speed brakes. Then hold a safe airspeed for the holding pattern. Because of the drag produced by the flaps, gear and speedbrakes, the N1 and N2 will increase and the fuel will burn much faster. With kind regards, Bogdan Misko.
August 8, 201213 yr I was under the impression deploying the speed brakes past flaps 5 was a No-No. Arrey AtiKATL Supertug
August 8, 201213 yr I was under the impression deploying the speed brakes past flaps 5 was a No-No. I asked a friend who flies the NG about this once and he told me that he had never used the speed brake while having deployed flaps in the real bird vatsim s3
August 8, 201213 yr Yeah, this is not a RL procedure but works well in the sim. With kind regards, Bogdan Misko.
