Don't know how many of you are still actively in multiplayer, but for those who are, please (pretty please!) if you are hosting, and there are several players online, could you (if you do not already) take a moment to issue a general warning a few minutes before terminating the session? This gives people who may be working on something together the chance to set up a new host, or at least friend each other before the lights go out.

sorry for deviating from the topic but I'll have to give MP a fair try in FLIGHT. I've been flying all by myself mostly.

I think they used to do that pretty regularly up in the Flight Multiplayer Sub Forum ( see top of the forum list for Flight).

I don't do multiplayer so really have not been active in there, with the reduction in activity after the announcement, not sure how effective that would be now.

LoL! People gather where other people are, its human nature. If you are online and a good host, you can have the full 16 on your server in a few minutes no matter what time it is.

I think you just hit the nail on the head.

 

Most HOSTS do not just intentionally close their sessions, when it is full of players.

I suspect 90% of the time, their PCs lock up, or they loose Internet connection for long enough to drop the session.

 

FS9 Multiplayer has a neat way to get around that -- If the Person Hosting left, then another player AUTOMATICALLY was assigned the HOST position.

Well, I foolishly believed that Flight had this too. So when I was playing with 3 friends and had to go, I exited thinking that the host position would be assigned to somebody else. And then I learnt that all got disconnected.

 

I hope that this will be implemented in Flight, but I really doubt this now.

Just before "The cancellation" I hosted an all day session that had the full 16 the whole time. Made a lotta friends, and also learned that my connection seems up to the challenge. If asked to host, I can, but I think for tonight's flight, its covered.

Well, for some reason last night it was very, very busy in multiplayer, with several full servers. The "Back to Hawaii" gathering occurred with only a few team-speak glitches, and the gathering actually extended far past the scheduled hours of 9 to 11EDT (Ended up going more towards 2am!!)
