ATC Handoffs

Featured Replies

Is there was way to minimize the millions of center hand offs in a small area over Los Angeles? In think in was told to switch frequencies about 8 times over La. One time ones told to switch in a matter of 2 min from just switching over from their last frequency.

Another annoying bug is that it will tell you climb to the next altitude right when the planes levels off from the last assigned altitude. I do love radar contact because it does not have these issues. However in love the default atc since it has more callsigns and they are customizable.

I have not used the default atc program for years, so in don't know if there are tweaks for this kind of things.

Thanks

I read somewhere that there is a russian ATC mod, which minimizes "report traffic in sight" and other things. I never used it because I don't use the default ATC anymore.

I tried searching for it, but I couldn't find it.

Search for a file named "relaxed ATC" I think it's called. It makes a big difference to the default ATC

"Always to the rescue." Hi Ho Silver - away!!!!! (Only us old geezers are gonna get that one.......)

Glad to help mate - I've been helped by others so many times it's nice to sometimes be able to give back something

Don't be too quick to want to reduce them, I believe FS modeled ATC sectors pretty accurately! Here's a sector map for the LA area, you can see they are quite close together. The problem in FS happens when you end up straddling the line between 2 of them, which will result in hand offs between the 2 more often. But for the number and size of the sectors, I think it's pretty realistic.

You can see other areas here!

Note this does appear to be an old compilation, but would have been what was there around the time FS9 was released.

Thanks
