Doing comparisons between FSX and P3D

Hi,

I wonder if your running P3D at 4096 and FSX at 1024?. The Bufferpools / usepools=0 will not play nice with a 1gb video card, at least not on my setup when I was running a 1gb card.

I also wonder about your overclock, your running your Intel 875 (2.93 GHz) @ 4GHz, that's a big jump, have you tested the stability of your overclock?. What about your systems RAM, what's the timming / CL?.

Granted, I do have a state-of-the-art system. But P3D is far superior to FSX on my setup...

Overclock is totally stable, Mike. No problem at all with FSX, other games, or stability in general. Could be BP but without it P3D makes no sense on my system. Both setups were 4096. FSX is just smoother, and yields better, stable results.

Word Not Allowed, you lost your staff position? #####?

I installed v 1.4 yesterday and performance and smoothness are incredible here. all sliders to the right and the sim is smooth ? I mean when I noticed this big change my jaw dropped and I had a couple of holy sh*.* moments.I had even cars on 100% ! Ok I tested with the alabeo sukhoi but still-..

I like default textures fine. I don't even think I'd need gex ? Not sure, I need to fly around a bit. I will prob install some landclass (scenery tech) and mesh ?

What say you ?

Vic

Do the mesh. Landclass might be a good idea, scenery tech is cool... UTX is licensed for FSX only, but works as well in P3D. ORBX performs GREAT!

If you want some comparisons, check the sig.

Took the plunge and installed it. Ran KSEA P3D and solid 30FPS. A few mini studders now and again and some textures on the building flickered. No Orbx installed yet. My FSX Orbx was 19 FPS studdering all the way. Not a fair comparison so I will install PMW in P3D and run it. If it works like that with Orbx, cannot see me flying FSX off line anymore. I am a online type thus will continue with the FSX on line community with FSX. If P3D outperforms FSX off line as I seen it tonight, all my Orbx will go into P3D. So far I am very impressed to say the least. If I am blasting through the frames in KSEA / Orbx / P3D, be great for helicopter flying nap of the earth in dense situatons. Best $50.00 upgrade for good performance. Thanks for all your help Word Not Allowed.

AVSIM rules. I could only present naked FSX vs naked P3D, without any addons - doesn't make much sense. Is why I also lost my Staff position.

That is not the entire story Srdan, and you know it. I am closing this topic now.
