September 9, 201213 yr Have a problem with Dodosim 206 when using REX-E, for some reason I can't acces the maintainance menus when i use REX-E. The screen just go black when I try to acces the menus, and i have restart FSX and disable REX-E and then everything works just great. I get around it by always have to do the maintainence before I start REX, but It gets really annoying when i forget and have to restart the sim just to get my heli fixed. Sometimes It happens with Accufeel too so i cant get acces to the settings menu and only when using REX-E. Anyone expirienced the same?
September 9, 201213 yr I do not own either product but I don't think this is a problem with REX-E. The screen going black trying to access the menus happens frequently. Some people recommend placing the uiautomationcore.dll from Vista into your main FSX folder. This has worked for some but not for everyone so it is not the "magic bullet". My solution? Lower your FSX/Display settings (and maybe your REX-E settings). When you disable REX-E, you gave back resources required by FSX to run properly. You could also have a 'tweak' that is taking up resources too. You can determined if your fsx settings are too high or a bad tweak by renaming your fsx.cfg, then restart fsx and letting the config rebuild. You can change your general settings but don't mess with the scenery/weather/AI settings. Then run FSX with REX-E enabled and see if the problem still exists. BTW, I googled 'dodosim 206 rex-e fsx' and found no discussions where individuals have had a problem like yours. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! September 9, 201213 yr I have to agree that it most likely isn't a problem with REX-E. I have and use both items and have no problems with the two working together. Danny
September 9, 201213 yr Author Thanks for the reply, as you say it probably have to do with something taking up resources. I found a better way than disabling REX-E, when I hit Alt-Enter and go to window mode the menus work fine so I don't have too disable REX and reload the weather and that works fine for me.

I saw a post somewhere yesterday where Pete Dawson of FSUIPC fame suggested the same thing. I know I have done the same thing in the past. Do not use Alt-Tab though as it doesn't work so well. September 9, 201213 yr The name is Pete Dowson not Dawson "Placing the uiautomationcore.dll from Vista into your main FSX folder" will not help one little bit at stopping the screen going black when accessing menus, that is caused by certain incompatible graphics driver versions, try a later or previous driver version to the one you have now. The uiautomationcore.dll fix is to stop FSX crashing to desktop after accessing the FSX in flight menus, it usually crashes after a certain number of mouse click actions in the menu system, usually around 18 clicks, and yes I am a hive of useless information  Cheers, Andy.
September 10, 201213 yr Author that is caused by certain incompatible graphics driver versions, try a later or previous driver version to the one you have now. Have the latest Nvidia driver, I will not go back to a previous version as I get some performence boost with the new driver. Guess I can live with this little problem. Thanks anyway for the quick responds.
