I have the same problem. Deleted and DLed into a different directory and does the same.

I'm using Win7 64 bit and 3 screens via eyefinity.

Hi,

that's an old problem: there were several threads within this forum and outcome was that it has (must have) something to do with special hardware/drivers, e.g. TH2Go or other multimonitor setting, but not only. And no real solution so far as I know - you may try shutting down TH2Go software before loading XP-10...

Very sad that even with the newest RC those bug(s) is (are) not fixed - I reported (ticketed) that fact very early (first Public Betas of XP10) to LR and never got any solution besides that they might will "look into it" - so as I will not give up my multimonitor setting its one of the big issues that pretend me from considering to buy XP-10 and give it a try as a possible future replacement for FSX :(

Besides, with the latest RC 10.10 I now get an OpenGL error that pretends loading XP-10 on my single-monitor test PC, too. :(

My conclusion: LR has some way to go if they want to get all this (and lots of other more or less issues/bugs) fixed. So I'll stay with FSX, considering P3D and go on testing new demo-versions of XP10 from time to time but will never buy into a full product until those basic issues will get fixed.

Please don't take this the wrong way, Michael...but what are the "lots of other bugs/issues" you are speaking of?

I'm only asking because aside from a few issues I've had in earlier releases, it seems very stable on my setup so far.

Obviously the TH2G seems to be an issue for multi monitors, but I'm just curious what are the other issues you have found?

So XP-X does not work with wide resolutions, or just the demo? As I mentioned, I am not using Triple Head but rather the Nvidia software with a bezel corrected resolution.

Hi guys,

I'm running XPX on a triple screen system via 1 nvidia 680gtx card. The problem with the splash screen may be due to your graphics drivers. At one point using driver no 301 something caused the problem. I'm currently using 304.48 beta driver and all is well.

x plane can't be any more unstable the FSX can it? Doesn't seem possible. I love FSX but it does have it's issues and it will tax even the most powerful systems!

I think we can all safely say that overall, X Plane is more stable than FSX.

When it goes 64bit, it will be even more so.

Hi

thanks to jess b i loaded the latest driver from nvidia and bingo it all works well

many thanks for all the comments but it works fine withwin7, 64bit, and th2go

Hi,

no I won't take it wrong. For someone that can use XP-X without any trouble and maybe has used XP since years there may be no special issues or even bugs.

But for me the most frustrating thing are the driver incompatibilities. I tried today the most new Nvidia driver (306.23-desktop-win8-win7-winvista-64bit-international-whql) an still have the OpenGL error with following crash report on my 7900GTX-SLI-System (didn't try the new driver on my common gaming PC with 470GTX/260-2GTX/TH2Go so far but don't expect that it will work, too).

But as I stated in my post above there are "lots of other more or less issues/bugs" that pretend me from using XP-X.

- On my DualCore iMac - my only PC where it loads at all - flying doesn't make much fun because the only device that really works is a Logitech Extreme Stick - not at all comparable to my TM HOTAS Warthog/Saitek Combar Rudder system at my Windows-PC - and graphics have to be reduced to a minimum so there is much less graphical fun than I have with FSX and ORBX-Scenery etc.

- with my PC Hardware it doesn't load at all until today!

- ATC and AI Aircraft (AC) is a joke compared to what I could even have offline in FSX (plus some add-ons) - remark: I am not flying online (Vatsim or IVAO) so far.

- plausible world is nice but very boring after a while and nothing compared to FSX with some good Scenery add-ons (ORBX, Germany VFR, UTX/GEX, US-Cities (!)...)

- stability of AC depends very much on graphics settings and pc-performance (my experience from iMac) - not even the FPS go down but AC stutters and swings around like hell (I still use the built in default AC) and e.g. I never got the default C172 trimmed correct to fly straight and level - maybe issue with Logitech joystick or I am not skilled enough for that "highend flight simulation" ;), I don't know.

So, at all these "facts" are enough to pretend me from doing more than testing from time to time - buying XP-X will not happen until I can load up a demoversion succesfully with all my hardware stuff that works fine with all other (!) games/sims - and I have lots of different flight sims on my pc-system.

Maybe you could understand from my point of view that I see "lots of other more or less issues/bugs" with XP-X.

I don't know about the bugs, but I will comment on one thing.

You said...

You're comparing default X Plane scenery to some top of the line payware FSX 3rd party add ons.

Hardly a reasonable comparison.

Your joystick problems are something probably related to your setup, I say that beause although I don't have a Warthog, I do have the Saitek X52 setup and it is solid in every version of X-Plane I have ever used. Actually I usually use a CH Flightsim Yoke, and again have no roblems with it in any version of X-Plane.

I have a Core 2 duo at 3Ghz and my card is a GTX 560 and the newest WHQL drivers 306.23 is the best all around driver I have ever used with any nVidia card. I don't know why you are having problems but these problems are not with the sim. I wonder if you perhaps installed to your root hard drive, try to install to your desktop if you aren't already.

There are some pretty good scenery downloads that are freeware at the Org, of course in the demo you are limited to the Seattle area.

Hope you get it sorted out, as the sim is a lot of fun. Although I too do wish for more scenery at airports.

Hi Folks,

at least - success

I think there were 2 main problems regarding those frustrating issues that pretend to load XP-X on my PC hardware at all:

1) You have to use the brand new nvidia driver version: 306.23 (that solved the problems with TH2Go drivers, too)

2) don't update the demo (don't know if this causes problems with full version, too), because only after I did a complete new install for the demo the second loading issue (Open GL error) was gone

So: the first big step for me to test XP-X is done. It works with my PC-hardware :) (within my iMac it did always - even with the joystick - but the lack of joystick support from Apple and the poor performance on my i5 iMac with ATI graphics card wasn't much fun...

So I'll give XP-X now a try - but, sorry for XP-X enthusiasts: it remains second choice until I get a 737 like the NGX from PMDG and some other stuff I like within FSX (like ORBX scenery, ...) and maybe if Prepar3D Version 2 won't make a big step ahead it could become my preferred flight simulator ;)

Glad you got it sorted out Michael. Being second choice is OK.
