September 12, 201213 yr Hi Bryan I enjoy FS2Crew a lot and would love the function to maybe be able to set the Missed Approach altitude in the briefing page before the descent starts and the FO set this after the landing checklist. I always forget to set this and quite often see the PNF set this altitude in the MCP window after the landing checklist is called. It would be pretty cool to hear "missed approach altitude XXXX set". Many thanks for a great product. Gavin Price

January 30, 201313 yr Hi Bryan, are there any news on this topic? I wondered the same last night on approach to KMDW. Adding this feature would more or less force you to look up the missed approach procedure before or while doing the approach briefing instead of on short final when you suddenly remember and start fumbling with your charts.... :-/ ;-) So long, Oli Oliver Branaschky Oliver Branaschky
January 31, 201313 yr Commercial Member We want to have the FO do it... we're hoping PMDG next update for the NGX (SP2) will add the capability to read the Missed Approach Alt value via the SDK. If you want him to set the Missed App now, just use "Set Altitude XXX". Cheers, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
January 31, 201313 yr Shouldn't it suffice to add a field "missed approach altitude" to the approach briefing panel? A "simple" voice command like "set missed approach altitude" would then be enough to set that specific altitude... Because of my German accent, it is sometimes hard to say things like "set altitude 2,600"... Granted, that's a matter of training voice recognition, but that won't help you while on final approach. Besides, it won't help you whenever you might have forgotten about it around the time you've reached short final... ;-) I really appreciate your effort, and if my suggestions won't add to the realism, please just ignore them, since I have no idea about real world OPs ;-) So long, Oli Oliver Branaschky Oliver Branaschky
January 31, 201313 yr I think that we should have a field to preset the missed approach altitude in the briefing page. But the moment the FO sets it on the MCP depends of the approach type performed (see FCTM). If performing ILS or NPA with IAN, the MA alt is set when intercepting the g/s or g/p. If performing NPA using VNAV, it is set when passing 300ft below the MA Alt. If performing NPA with V/S, it is set no more late than 300ft above the MDA.
