GE, RR or PW?

Recommended Posts

Not any real preference, except I have been in the PW camp with the 744 and MD-11, and I guess with the 777 it might be a GE and PW show for me.

In short, I go for the engine with the most thrust, hate being short on power :P

Tell me about it, the 800WL (NGX) climbs so slow above FL200!

Then that would be the GEs. Currently hold the world record for thrust!

True, but the GEs are not on the top thrust rating for some of the lower grade 777s, there it seems to be a PW engine that inches ahead.

I was wondering, will PMDG model all 3 engine variants? Also, on the freighter, will PMDG include the raked winglets for the General Electric GE90 engine?

Correct, the non 200ER's have GE90-77B's (I think that's correct!)

The freighter will look like the LR, just a cargo version. For the 200ER I can't see why they won't model them all.

I have a slightly unrelated and silly question. In terms of fuel efficiency what sort of differences in percentages are we looking at between the three different engines? Same for the A330-300 with its PW, GE and RR offerings.

Arjen, OMG... that is so sick, LOL! Love it. While on the other side of the frequency spectrum, it sounds sooo powerful!
