nice edits, reminds me of those new fashion styled "miniature" photos - you take a normal photo, make a few parts blurred and play around a bit with the colors so the photo looks like a miniature

new fashion styled "miniature" photos"

 

That's actually called "Tilt Shift photograpy." It's usually done with a special lens that's offset and tilted. But it can also be achieved by manipulating the picture digitally.

 

Although I really like the images posted by Ben, I can't say the blurred focus effect does these pictures justice.
