September 16, 201213 yr On FSX Startup and on saving Scenery Library settings, I get an error message saying "SCENERY.CFG file error. Invalid remote scenery path in scenery area 130." However, when I check my scenery.cfg file, it stops at Area.120. I do have more than 120 items in my scenery library, though, and the 130th is Base 206, but I got the same message when before I added a bunch of scenery, so #130 was something else before, and I still got the error message. Any ideas? Thanks, boeing247 (by the way, I think this was caused by installing some ORBX freeware that includes YCEM Clearwater) -Bram Osterhout
September 16, 201213 yr What was the last addon you added? remove that from the scenery cfg and try again Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
September 16, 201213 yr Download and run this, Bram. It will find your problem for you. Great little program. There's a map, too - here, which will help in understanding how Microsoft created the numbering system in the Scenery folder. September 17, 201213 yr You are not looking at the working copy of the scenery.cfg. It is not located in the root FSX folder. It can be found in C:\Program Data\Microsoft\FSX. regards, Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
September 17, 201213 yr Author Thanks, Paul! The problem was that the path for one of my addon sceneries had been deleted from the entry at Area.130 (it was missing the "Local=PathName" variable). I added it back in, and that should hopefully fix it. And thanks for the tip about the ProgramData folder, Joe. I assumed that the scenery.cfg file would either be in the root directory or the AppData (roaming) folder. Odd that I've never heard of it before. -Bram Osterhout
