3960X OC to 5.0G, fully loaded PC, Great FPS

NGX 737-800. And 16x AA for virtual cockpit... is actually pretty sick

Well I don't have that plane so can't compare but I tend to run with quite a large amount of AI so I would probably not get the same thing you are getting. AI seems to have an expontential affect on FPS. Also I run my LOD radius at 6.5 (default 4.5) and that does seem to have a pronounced effect on FPS as well around heavy areas like that.

I also run 6.5 LOD. As long as I remember to change or back when I go to settings in fsx.

I9 7900X clocked PER CORE @ 5.1 (Cores 0 & 1), 5.0 (cores 2 and 3), 4.8 (all other cores).

64 Gb DDR4 RAM clocked @ 3800 MHz, 3 X Titan Pascal in non-sli. 2 x Koolance EXC 800 external chiller (one for CPU and one for 3 GPUs using Koolance bridge)

If I installed (in this order) all of these add ons, is there something I should do to avoid conflict? My runways are messed up (I see dirt and patches of grass all over):

REX

PhotoScenery Earth Manhattan

Manhattan X

UTX

GEX

Flight Environment X

Any thoughts?

The Flight1 support dudes seem to prefer UTX->GEX->REX. Installing REX last will probably cure that runway problem you're experiencing.

What's it like at those big airports with lots of AI?? I think yours is an IvyBridge processor so you will have an edge over my 3939K anyhow but it would be cool to get an idea.

I will post pics and videos as soon as I figure out how to do it.

I feel like Im not pushing my hardware enough.... which I guess Im too afraid to run an unstable system. But I have turbo boost @ 4.4G and OC RAM, OC 680 and I get 30 FPS under the most maxed out confitions (on a clear day wiith AI 0%). I am waiting to get confortable with overclocking 4.7-4.8G before I add traffic and bad weather.... after all, I have the best liquid cooling money can buyu.... my system @ 4.4G has a temp peak of 55 deg!

I'm not very familiar with the Ivybridge trips but if they're similar to the previous gen you shouldn't have turbo boost enabled.

Probably best to disable bloom as A: it doesn't look realistic and B: is a huge FPS hog.

Remember you're working with out of date and poorly coded software. My advice is, turn traffic down, including airport traffic. Lower the vehicle density on the ground at airports. Remember to use an external limiter. It's almost as if the sim is hard coded to not run smoothly at high FPS. I'd love to see how it runs on this:

LOL imagine if the cooling failed. It would probably obliterate itself in a similar fashion to an exploding jet engine =D.
