September 26, 201213 yr I recently installed FSX, with no problems. I then installed Radar Contact 4.3, which included the latest FSUIPC (4?). Again, no apparent problems. But now I am being told to go to the "Add-ons" in FSX to edit or confirm FSUIPC parameters. I can't find an "Add-ons" menu anywhere in FSX. What am I missing? Sorry if this is in the wrong spot, but I just got here. -= Gary =- -= Gary Barth =-
September 26, 201213 yr The "Addons" tab/menu is at the top of your screen when FSX has been started and you have a flight active. Regards, Danny
September 26, 201213 yr Author DannyR, could you be a little faster with your replies? That took a long 15 seconds! Thank you for the instantaneous response, and it was a "my bad" moment for me. Somehow, when I loaded my flight, it defaulted to the "no top menu" style. I had to hit the ALT button to find that "Add-ons" choice. Now my problem is that FSUIPC 4 isn't registered (and it should be as it came with RC 4.3). So I'll be talking with jd over at Radar Contact about that. And yes, I did read the Read Me, and launched FSX as "admin." Made no difference. Oh, well...we live and learn. I don't do a bad job for a 65-year-old. -= Gary Barth =-
September 26, 201213 yr Hi Gary, FSUIPC does come with Radar Contact but it is NOT the registered version. You must go ahead and follow the links in FSUIPC to get it registered which does have a cost. BTW, it is well worth every penny, it is a very powerful tool. Bob
September 26, 201213 yr Why does the installer give you the option to install FSUIPC to avoid this happening?
September 26, 201213 yr Commercial Member I recently installed FSX, with no problems. I then installed Radar Contact 4.3, which included the latest FSUIPC (4?) The latest full version of FSUIPC4 for FSX is 4.853, and nothing before that is supported. I suspect the version included with RC is very much out of date. Now my problem is that FSUIPC 4 isn't registered (and it should be as it came with RC 4.3). So I'll be talking with jd over at Radar Contact about that. You do NOT need to register FSUIPC to use it with Radar Contact! It is an accredited FSUIPC client. The same applies to nearly all FSUIPC client applications. You normally only need to register FSUIPC in order to use the User facilities, not to enable the application interface! The user guide, which also should have been installed, would have told you this. Regards Pete Win10: 22H2 19045.2728 CPU: 9900KS at 5.5GHz Memory: 32Gb at 3800 MHz. September 26, 201213 yr Author I usually read the User Guides, and was unsure whether or not I had to register FSUIPC in order for RC to work. I will by-pass registration for now. THanks, all! -= Gary Barth =-
