Featured Replies

Hello,I was uploading some screenshots this morning to Photobucket when all of a sudden a page pops up with an FBI Badge with a message saying my computer has been locked by FBI for Piracy and to unlock it I need to purchase a Moneypac Card for $200.Obviously my PC's been Hacked

This even though my virus protection was running,Not the way to start my Monday

It's got nothing to do with Photobucket, I have thousands of pictures uploaded with them, I even uploaded another just now to confirm that they weren't having problems. It's more likely you have a virus or other malware infection from another source, such as one of those crappy toolbars in your browser or some such useless app, it certainly wont be from Photobucket though.

Cheers, Andy.

I had the same thing last week, with a different name (Metropolitan Police). A search came up with a few fixes, although Microsoft was better. Replacing explorer.exe was one solution, possibly. I believe it was Malwarebyte that fixed it, downloaded via safe mode with networking, and running a full scan (and I mean full!).

Thank You for the info,Andy it just seems funny that at the exact time I was uploading photos that this is when I was Hacked.

I don't think there is any reason to assume that the message appeared at the time your computer was infected. Sometimes these things show up hours or days afterwards.
