  1. After 25 years of trying to keep on top of all the hardware improvements, and having now reached happiness, I suddenly find that I am not happy. Not a complaint at all, but I have everything I want, and it's too much. I want to simplify. I've sold off a lot of stuff and I have all the basics, but what I would like advice on is a solid reliable joystick. I fly Fenix and A2A or similar most of the time. I appreciate that there are a lot of sticks around and everyone will have a different opinion, but it's opinions that I would like, please.
  2. Thank you all, I've gone for Greenshot, exactly what I wanted.
  3. I rarely take screenshots because my favoured app seems to be discontinued, although I also forget to press the button. I wonder what the favoured apps are here? Nothing fancy, just press and forget. Thank you Rob J
  4. I used it happily but I'm not an expert. The native version is only around £11 so I just went for it.
  5. Pyreegue is doing LEPA.
  6. I use the numeric keypad (or did until I bought Chaseplane).
  7. Yes, quite true. I was thinking of here in UK I know of airfields in the middle of nowhere where there is nothing atc-wise until you can perhaps contact a Flight Information Service. I was watching a video yesterday of a chap in Cornwall who just pulled his aeroplane out of a large shed and took off. No radio, nothing. Seems perfect.
  8. If you're flying out of a real airfield without a tower or whatever then you either just take-off or contact the nearest atc available.
  9. BMA had DC3s from their early days as Derby Aviation, based at Burnaston, an old RAF field near Derby. They moved to Castle Donington, later renamed East Midlands, and became British Midland Airways in 1965. The first plastic model aeroplane I ever made in the 60s was of a BMA DC3 G-ANTD, which I kept for years until I went overseas with the RAF and my mum binned it :(
  10. I've disabled the eye tracker and just use headtracking. I have a decade-old MS webcam, only 30fps, but it works well. It's better in a well-lit room.
  11. Beam is brilliant, easy to set up, and cheap, very cheap. You don't need to use a phone, a webcam is best. That's all you need. There's a trial from Steam but the full software doesn't need Steam. I sold my Tobii, couldn't get on with it.
  12. From my point of view it's a shame it's a -500. In another life I worked for Court Line and Gulf Air, and they had -1/-100s, not -500s. I flew the Capt Sim version a lot, and really enjoyed it. Anybody who buys this will surely enjoy it a lot; it's a fabulous airoplane, way ahead of its time. I'm waiting for the JF A300, another that I had real-life dealings with.
  13. There'a a lot of stuff in C/ProgramData/Fenix.
  14. C:\XboxGames\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\Content\Packages\asobo-services\AirportServices\Shared This shoud help. I already removed the GA little tug. Beware that a sim update may restore it.
