I have a lot of problems with setting views and cameras in MSFS2024, so considering buying Chase plane to see if that will be a way to solve it. But before taking the jump, I have a couple of questions that I'm sure you can help with 😉

1. I understand that CP comes with a lot of default settings for different planes, but does it also automatically change profiles from plane to plane? Say if I fly an airliner (Fbw A320) and have the profile for that, if I on my next flight want to fly a Cessna 172, does CP change to a cessna profile or do I have to do that myself?

2. As I understand it, cp can change the views with a single button, does that mean it cycles through the different views, or can I set up the Num keypad to have the different views?

   Or maybe even buy a Stream deck to use for it?

   I HAVE seen a lot of videos, but still not quite sure about these two things (probably due to age :-) ) so if you can clear it up, I'll be truly grateful.

2. Yes. And you can do both - set a button to cycle through views plus have dedicated buttons or keyboard bindings for any number of specific views

What I like is that you can adjust the default views, save them, and CP will remember. And so easy to add your own.

It can do all of those things. I also have hotkeys for each camera view that I have also programmed in a streamdeck for easy access.

I bought CP for 2020, and have a free version coming to me due to when I bought it, but I won't install it as I'm ultra happy with default. Quite honestly I find default setup/save/loading of the 10 Custom Camera Views in MSFS 2024 far easier to grapple with than CP was. Seriously: Ctrl-Alt-1, 2, 3...etc. Setting up new planes is the same because I will use the same buttons on my controllers to set each view. And since the awesome SIMPLE app, Spotty26 arrived, I have the FlyBy and Tower views I was after. THAT, was the main reason I bought CP, just for those views. Some need more than 10 views, and external view and the uber simple drone you get in default, but don't need that here. Plus the default camera system offers built in other views as desired, but I just don't have a need.

I responded here only because I really can't relate to how anyone would have issues setting custom views in the default camera system.

A couple of nice features of Chaseplane is you can set a realistic FoV in each aircraft without needing developer mode (except once to get the zoom value), and it remembers the aircraft's view settings even if you remove and re-install the aircraft or sim (they're stored in the cloud.)

I also added FSRealistic+ and love it (with touchdown comment disabled)

Believe me, I have tried several times with the Ctrl+Alt+ a num pad number, but somehow they don't work. Nothing happens when trying with Alt+ the number, so I'm getting a little frustrated and that's why I have considered buying Chase plane. Plus Cp have some other nice features as well.

I bought Chase Plane because I like having custom views (PFD, MFD, overhead panel, etc.), but I don't use it anymore.

The main downside I find with Chase Plane is how cumbersome it is to set up a custom view. If you want to be organized, you have to: create a group, save the view (the interface is very well designed), assign it to a key (keyboard or controller), assign it to a group, etc. I gave up on it because it was too time-consuming, whereas MSFS offers 10 default views that are very easy to assign and, above all, modify.

Also, during installation (as noted in the documentation), Chase Plane deletes all custom views created within MSFS. You can't mix the two.

Just my opinion.

You don't use a num pad number--you use a number from the top row of number keys. I'm telling you it does not get any simpler. And, it's uber simple to FINE TUNE exact locations of any camera you set. Some are stumped by that as I was until I learned how to do that, which mainly comes into play for example in getting the graphics in a HUD perfectly centered. I just found CP to be an unnecessary extra layer to grapple with and in reality I essentially just duplicated what I already had in default so all it was good for was the Flyby view for me.

I really like Chaseplane, but you have to set up custom cameras for every plane. For example, first time I fly a new plane, I have to set up the left, right and back views. Granted it only takes a minute. There's no concept of just "look out the left window" by default. ChasePlane does not use default views.

So when I buy a new plane (the 114 is my latest), I open the main pilot view and edit it as necessary, then map it to my joystick hat (again takes a few seconds). Then I make a look left, look right view and map appropriate buttons. Then I do a look back (over your shoulder for pattern work).

Where ChasePlane shines and why I use it is in adjusting views. You can easily fine tune your views (for example the main cockpit). Up, down, left, right, zoom, forward, back. It can all be done in seconds.

It is a great program, but does take a little time to learn.

All you need is those horizontally arranged numbers on the keyboard sir. You can assign 1 for Pilot View, Shift + 1 for Landing View, 2 for MCP, 3 for ND, 4 for Pedestal, 5 for FMC, 6 for EFB etc. You can also assign views on your joystick, XBOX controller, Throttle, etc
