AirSimmer Customer Support - Absolutely Appalling

Featured Replies

You seem to have a thing about horses :(Yep, it gets worse :O And still no real contribution.Arghh, a threat to try and close the thread  No comment needed really.Sarcasm at it's best (or worse)Jeez - there's that poor horse again. And yet you have not told us why you feel this thread should be locked (or people should not be allowed an opinion on this), even though you have obviously rejected it on more than one occasion? You don't frequent a BMW forum by chance? Please tell me why this should be locked, because I for one, find it quite fascinating due to many of the issues it has addressed, including replies from developers themselves (sadly not the ones concerned).Resolved how? You have a customer that has made his point and sadly felt that he now had to delete his profile. You have a Customer Service person that had got to the stage where he had enough. You also have a product supplier that quite clearly has no idea of the support that is required by customers and has made NO contribution to the original issue.More importantly (and although they give a 30 day refund), you still have a distributor making commissions from a product that, after all this time, has failed to deliver!

I really do not see how the issue(s) has been resolved, because this thread has served as a reminder that customers expect more than being told by others that "that's the way it is and it is acceptable to them"

Don't get me wrong I agree with you in that the issues you have mentioned definitely exist. I feel however in this instance that the issue raised by this thread has been resolved within the scope for which it was originally created, namely that the OP had a grievance as he was blocked from receiving the service for which he was entitled. As far as I can tell this has since been addressed to the satisfaction of both parties - it seems as though Rob had been disillusioned with his role for some time and that this event helped him make the final decision to move on (which he obviously feels is a good thing at this stage and for understandable reasons). There comes a time when something has been discussed to a point where there are no longer any more constructive arguments to be constructed and I think this is what BimmerCop is getting at. The topic has been active long enough now that we have a good cross-section of opinions and correspondence from Avsim members - it would make a good sticky for reflective reading but there probably isn't a great deal more of any particular interest or substance that can now be added at this point.

We all know that the issues you mention exist but talking about it endlessly isn't going to change much. If it is a big enough issue for everyone here then I move that we, as a community, undertake action to inform Flight1 of the dilemma they face with hosting the AirSimmer product and use our unanimous voices to make it known that we no longer feel Flight1 can act in good conscience by marketing this software. They are a very reputable business in the flight sim world (as I personally can attest to) and their user base is small enough that they will most likely listen.

Couldn't have said it better. The purpose of this specific thread was accomplished. Now, if we are going to turn this thread into a catch-all for everyone who's had or is having an issue with AS support, then we need to rename it as such. That's all I am saying and I'm out. I do real detective work in RL and not digging through an online thread quoting and taking posts out of context. ;-)

Although I am not interested in the AirSimmer A320 or any other Airbus (I prefer propliners) I follow this thread with a certain fascination, even when I am not sure anymore what it is about now. The initial problem is solved for long now.

The reason I post here is kannwar's post -

that we, as a community, undertake action to inform Flight1 of the dilemma they face with hosting the AirSimmer product and use our unanimous voices to make it known that we no longer feel Flight1 can act in good conscience by marketing this software.

Remember the discussions we read here why a certain developer abandons FS2004 and so on. We learned, that these companies base their decision to develop for a FS platform or to sell a software on economic considerations exclusively. Furthermore, I learned regarding AirSimmer A320, that there are users who love this plane and others who don't. We should let them meet their decision to buy it or to buy it not absolutely freely. If Flight1 sells enough copies of this product - why shouldn't they? And if not - the market will rule.

With regards to all forum members, moderators, voluntary supporters..., without you this hobby wouldn't be what it actually is!
