Yes, sadly many times.

 

I lowered my settings, got the UIAutomationCore.dll file and applied other minor tweaks from Kostas post.

Nowadays they are quite rare.

Are you using the UIAutomationCore.DLL fix?

 

What version of Windows are you running?

You can download this from here, place it in the FSX root folder and rename it as "UIAutomationCore.dll" (no quotes)

 

One more thing: Make sure you install the latest FSUIPC, free or paid (better) version. It solves many other problems.

Ok Paul J recommends:

Just a quick note - The version number should be 6.0.5840.16386. This is the Vista 32-bit version, and works well with FSX.

 

Place it into the root folder of FSX. DON'T put it anywhere else.

 

Version 6.0.6001.18000 will also work, but it also will fail occasionally, whereas 5840.16386 does not fail at all.

 

Unfortunately other causes of CTD’s may always appear.

Yes, no problem at all, just make sure it stays in the FSX main folder.

Both FSX and that UIAutomationCore.dll are 32 bit (or x86) apps.

 

(Applications always use the “closest path” to the dll's they need; unless instructed otherwise in code)

This is the location it is at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X

I tried it many times. There is a time I think it worked, when I placed into the system32 and systemWow64 folder. But that only fixed the right click crashes. This one happened after I opened fsrecorder to start recording the landing. I'm not sure if it's related though.

Yes I was using the leveld-767 and FS2crew voice. I installed the updated VC textures so it might look different.

Sagga, don’t put UIAutomationCore.dll under System32 or SysWOW64, the DLL we are talking about is for Windows Vista only, not for Windows 7. Programs that need the Windows 7 version might will fail if they don’t find the correct version. (For example Visual Studio)

 

This UIAutomationCore.dll we are talking about should only be placed at your FSX folder. (Version number should start with 6.)

 

Yes, starting another program might crash your FSX, especially when your CPU GPU or Memory use are approaching limits. (Like when landing that 767)

OK, Thanks. So there should not be any UIAutomationCore.dll in those 2 folders? Because I remember finding it in one of them when I was copying the new file. I'll put it in the FSX folder and see if that works.
