Carenado 172, out of Minden Nevada

Featured Replies

The Minden area is amongst several places I've lived. Minden lies at the foot of the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada. I used to drive from the valley floor up and over the ridge to my office in Lake Tahoe--and during that drive I felt like I was flying as I ascended over 4000 feet above the valley floor. This part of Nevada is where the mountains give way to the Nevada desert, and I've included shots showing both. Needless to say, the breathtaking beauty of the area makes it one of my favorite places to fly in FS-X.

The scenery was generated by Tileproxy, and the flight covered terrain from Minden to Carson City, Nevada. Enjoy!

A very nice plane and shots. Thanks for posting.

Awesome!

TP works best with slow aircraft such as the 172.

I've been able to get tileproxy to keep up at speeds exceeding 300kts. Just a few tweaks of the tp settings and keeping visibility limited to 30 miles is a big help. Take a look at some of my other posts in the forum, you'll see they are done with fast aircraft.

I gave me your config in some of your other post. I see that you limit the max lod to 15, thats not the highest resolution and thats the reason you have such a good performence. I enjoy your config too, its realy good.

How do you limit the visibility to 30nm?

I limit it using weather options in FS-X, under vis settings, making sure that the vis layer extends past my planned cruising altitude.
