Just finished my first official FS2Crew NGX flight

and it was amazing..... thank you developers so much.

it would be even better if they had FS2crew airline addons - like have a (SouthWest Airlines) crew. That would be amazing.

lol, Nooooo, British Airways! :P

I hope I get up-to-speed sometime soon with the 737NGX and FS2Crew. How long did it take you to get up-to-speed or were you flying the tutorial?

I did the tutorial first just to get the hang of things, but then I did my own official flight. Its real simple and adds so much to the simulation!

Awesome... If tried the tutorial a few times and what I cant get my head around is, how am I supposed to know what the actual route is meant to look like?

The tutorial even mentions bits of the route being wrong, yet without the manual telling me this, I'm scratching my head as to "How am I meant to know/recognise these things"?? lol

This is the standard NGX tutorial?

When you step through the route it should be all "connected" and have no waypoints going way off. For example if you accidentally typed a waypoint in Antarctica you would see a problem :)

The errors they are talking about are only altitude restrictions I think, not really that important when you're first learning it.

yeah after you fill out your route and CRZ altitude go back to the "legs" page and make sure all your altitudes are good.

Glad you enjoyed your first "Official" flight. Sounds so grand.

I am a big fan of NGX with FS2Crew as well. You got to be careful though that you don't forget how to do things yourself though, as it does make flying pretty effortless having an FO do most of the setting up for you.

The best way to figure routes out is to use real world routes which you can get all over the internet. The mistakes mentioned in the tutorial are, as mentioned above, differences between the SID/STAR in the NGX MCDU and per real world charts. You can find charts on the internet as well just by googling them, or through Navigraphs NDAC system. You definitely don't need them to get started though.

The manuals and tutorials all look intimidating at first, but really it is pretty simple to fly these things after a little practise!
