October 4, 201213 yr Actually from my view, it's harder to handly a Cessna 172 than a 767, since the Cessna is very unstable airplane (probably due to it's size)
October 4, 201213 yr i didnt relise that a 777 engines is the same size or nearly the same size as the 737 fusalage Thomas Wills
October 4, 201213 yr Commercial Member since the Cessna is very unstable airplane It's actually a rather stable aircraft. I think your perception comes from the sim being so sensitive, and the aircraft in the sim reacts very quickly. The size of the plane does contribute to it getting tossed around by turbulence and wind more. Kyle Rodgers

In real life flying a Cessna is of course very easy (but it reacts stronger to winds as well). I was talking about the FS2004 default Cessna, which reacts to very small adjustements on the joystick, with lowest sensivity sliders set. Take off with just a slight movement on the joke causes the take offs very violent... The carenado Cessna's in the sim are too sensitive as well, like some heavies (but not all).
October 5, 201213 yr How the plane in the center of the gates is supposed to exit ? Which towing-cab driver would take the responsibility to bring her out ?
October 5, 201213 yr Commercial Member How the plane in the center of the gates is supposed to exit ? They don't. Some operators will stack departures. At IAD, we'd block a few aircraft in to fit a few more on the C/D gates. Made a mess if there was a delay, but it worked most of the time. Granted, that was all one operator. I have a feeling the 777 was mis-assigned by the sim. Which towing-cab driver would take the responsibility to bring her out ? You'll see some magic tricks with aircraft parking at some of the busier FBO hangars (some of Landmark's at IAD, and Cutter in PHX I've witnessed/worked personally). You'd want some good wing walkers, though. Ha! EDIT: Here's a pic. Granted, they're not occupied, but I've outlined them. At first glance, they're just alternate lead-in lines, but when you see them mid-bank, you'll see a CRJ2 or E145 parked there blocking the others in. Kyle Rodgers

I have always been imagining a situation of perfect order within fingers.. and in case of traffic I thought planes were simply diverted to secondary spots but I think you are right, sometimes operators can place planes in weird places to favorite other ones maybe first in the departure list.

When you figure it out, let me know, and we'll go start an airport planning firm and rake in some cash. Used to do some of that in a past life. I was part of the firm that redesigned IAD's A gates after IDE went under, actually. Kyle Rodgers

Yeah I'll let you know Meanwhile, I have just bought DBS studio GPS because despite it is not what pilots do in real life I am enjoying it a lot, no more nightmare hours lost in the limbo looking for ground signs and getting lost at LFPG for example for decades. Now my runs on the taxiways are smooth and quick both to gates and runways, above all during the night.
