October 10, 201213 yr Hi, I hope someone can help. I have receently been getting CTD while on approach. All runs smoothly then bang! I have a few (over 20) add on airports on my system. Could these be causing my issues? Is it possible to have to many addon airports in FSX? If anyone can help or suggest anything it would be great. Cheers Ben Morton Donald Duck
October 10, 201213 yr Hi Ben, Can you download AppCrashView from the following site and provide us the details of your crash - http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/app_crash_view.html. You can find this info in your Event Viewer too but this is a little faster and easier to navigate. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! October 10, 201213 yr Hi Ben, Yes, perfect! Do you have FSX Aero Commander installed? FSX unloaded it as it does not work well with User Access Controls (UAC) enabled. You should disable UAC and/or find an update to this program. It may also be looking for a certain version of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables. For FSX you should have 2005, 2008, and 2010 installed. The error is related to Microsoft Visuals. MSV's are used by developers to properly install fsx/acceleration and any addon. Look in your Add/Remove Programs to see if you have all versions of the Microsoft Visuals installed. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! October 10, 201213 yr Author Hi Jim I dont believe i have aero commander installed. What is it? I have had a look and i have 2005, 2008 and 2010 all installed on my system. Cheers Ben Donald Duck
October 10, 201213 yr The problem appears to be with the Aerosoft Launcher. Believe the latest version is 1003. This is installed if you have any Aerosoft products on your system and keeps your products up-to-date. Check with Aerosoft about your crash. October 15, 201213 yr Hi Jim! I just registered here some minutes ago, because I have a similar problem and can`t find a solution anywhere else. This is what I know: FSX crashes not due to time, but due to the position where I'am (for exple: in the near of one of my sceneries or 20m away from a building in an acceleration mission - ALWAYS the same places, so I could actually control the appearence of the crash! And I know that it belongs to g3d.dll. It occurs since I updated my graphic drivers (ATI Catalyst) 2 weeks ago I think... October 15, 201213 yr Download and install the latest version of FSUIPC4.dll. It fixes this problem for most CTD's. It's freeware but many people bought a license as it fixed their g3d.dll errors (including me). http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html. October 16, 201213 yr I already have the unregisterd version of 4.853 Is there really no different way to solve this? 30€ for a crash that didn't appear before is, well, kind of overprized as I don't even know wether it fixes the problem or not. Greetings, Steven

Greetings, Steven Sorry I missed the fsuipc4.dll module being loaded in your error report. I just looked again several times and finally saw it was loaded. You can go to the developer of the product(s) you are flying over as the product is basically missing objects that are being called and cannot be rendered. There is no other known solution. The developer may have already issued an update as others would be experiencing this too. To find the one g3d solution I spoke about previously took many manhours by a lot of members here at AVSIM and finally fixed by the developer of FSUIPC. When you have a g3d error again, look at your FSUIPC log and see what it is telling you. It might give you more valuable info to pass on the the scenery developer. To try to narrow down the offending object, turn autogen completely off and see if that fixes the problem. If it does, you know the offending object is there. You can also disable scenery in your Scenery Library to pinpoint the offending program. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! October 17, 201213 yr THANK YOU very very much, Jim! Your help is really great! This sounds pretty logical and can really be the cause, but the funny thing is, that I'm actually the "developer" of one scenery and the other one is absolutely default (scenery of an acceleration pack mission)! So I suppose I have to check wether a default scenery folder in fsx root directory is not complete? Greetings, Steven
October 17, 201213 yr So I suppose I have to check wether a default scenery folder in fsx root directory is not complete? No. You need to check whether any addon scenery in the Scenery Library is the cause of your crashes. You state your are actually the "developer" of one scenery and perhaps there is something wrong with that scenery. That's the first scenery I would disable. I'm just saying that if FSX cannot find the scenery objects it was programmed to render, it will crash. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! October 17, 201213 yr 2 thinks I'll add for crashes. Turn off antivirus or malware software, see if crashes stop. This fixed my crashes. Don't overclock or lower your overclock. This also fixed my other crashes.
October 17, 201213 yr I agree those could be issues if they are turned up too high. Antivirus programs are constantly looking for changes to the registry and will stop entries if it thinks the entry is a virus. Then, when you start up FSX, the program does not work properly as it is missing a required registry entry. Most anti-virus programs have pretty much solved this problem but it can still happen. October 18, 201213 yr Good eve and thanks again! Sounds like another promising solution as I recently turned up some anti-virus settings...Might be the key. The fact about the scenery is that it perfectly worked before the crashes appeared. And Í don't think that I can disable the default scenery.
