As a general rule listening to ATC in the UK is not seen as a crime though it may go against certain UK Acts of Parliament, and i have heard that in the UK certain police forces around the airports actually use "spotters" to be on the look out for suspicious activity. I have often used a scanner sitting at a UK airport and no one has said anything, but this is not the law, so please dont take it as that. I dont believe LHR is on Live ATC, as most UK airports are not either. If you are in the london area my advise is get yourself down to LHR and watch the aircraft, and listen to them if u own a scanner in person. Your other option is take a Radio Telephony exam authorised by the CAA and then u can listen to ATC as u wish. I in no way say any of this as Law, just my understanding of it, as a CAA licence holder. Ben Morton

Hi, I hope someone can help. I have receently been getting CTD while on approach. All runs smoothly then bang! I have a few (over 20) add on airports on my system. Could these be causing my issues? Is it possible to have to many addon airports in FSX? If anyone can help or suggest anything it would be great. Cheers Ben Morton

I know they dont like other developers being mentioned/ bashed here but aerosoft have given updates as to what is wrong with the A320. I will not discuss what they are here as its not the place. But i have to agree with the idea that no date is better than a date and then changing it. Its ready when we see it available to buy. In the mean time just enjoy what we have. Whether thats ur NGX, or ur MD11, etc just fly them into the ground and then when it happens u will have a new kite to fly. Ben Morton

Its gonna be DXB-NCL, i know the exact a/c isnt on the first release (773) but i will do it anyway. Until now its been an A330 op on the rte but i just cant wait to hear the 777 roar above my house. Anyone know a good DXB scenery addon (payware if possible). Ben Morton

I am seriously thinking that for the first time i will buy a set of manuals, but i want the Chief Pilots set with the colour upgrade. I know its a little off topic but does anyone know how reliable USPS is at international shipping. I am in the UK. Its an extra $100 for fedex. PMDG state "USPS international services do not provide strong tracking data or guaranteed delivery times. Choosing USPS for international shipping is done AT YOUR OWN RISK." I know there is a risk, but how much risk? Ben Morton

I had the same thing, if you go into your REX settings have a look at what you have the "maximum wind turbulence" slider set to, for some reason i can only get rid of this problem if i set it to 1. Mine was originally at 4 or 5. Since changing this has not happened again. Ben Morton

ok so the previous microsoft flight post got locked...to quote the previous "Microsoft does not exist to do charitable and benevolent acts for the niche that is the flight sim community"No they dont...but they charge for the flight sim product the same as any other microsoft product.They do research and development. They do this with word, excel and flight sim. Yes i know the vast proportion of the budget used to end up in flight sim, at one point it was 70% but we pay for it like any other client.Now i am sorry to say that the new "flight" from MS is simply a game to expand their online gaming. It isnt a simulator! That is the top and bottom of it..But unless someone can develop the current FSX coding which is possible then we are at the run off area to use a flying term. FSx does have potential, it will just take someone with the money to do it.Trust me people i would do it if i had the cash.Ben

PMDG have proven themselves as the best provider of aircraft addons to the flight sim market. I was wondering that could PMDG not expand themselves and look at the design of addon scenery, and maybe even develop their own flight simulator, specifically engineered to provide the best platform for their aircraft and if possible scenery.When i say scenery i dont mean necassarily small airports, maybe say large scenery areas, large hub airports across the world.What are people and the PMDGs thoughts on this???CheersBen

MS Flight looks awful! It looks like a game not a simulation. Normally i would buy the new FS on the day of release but i will not be going near this. Plus i dont wanna lose my NGX. If i was to invest in something new it would be XP10.

Yeah, it is becoming increasingly hard to find NG operators in Europe. There seems to be a tendency to prefer A319/320 over 737-700/800 when airline fleet renewals are scheduled. Speaking as someone who flies NG's for a living in europe i am a bit surprised by this. The NG is still alive and well in europe but maybe just not as much as the Airbus. They are around, you just got look for us, which isnt that hard. My local airport in england has Ryanair, Thompsonfly, KLM plus others on a charter or Adhoc basis.Ben Morton

All ok at this end, always has been since i first got the 800/900, lets hope this continues. I just dont like the new touchdown sound, doesnt sound very realistic from sitting on the flightdeck, but hey small details. Ben Morton

I find that sometimes when i load the NGX (either version) that i do not get the nav lights loading and at this point i know there will be issues. I normally check as soon as the system has initialised to see if they will turn on. If they dont i will usually simply close FSX and restart my PC and then restart FSX and this has so far every time cleared the fault. Not sure what is causing it but this is the only issue that i have ever had with the NGX. Ben Morton

No to be honest i have been very happy with my version of NGX, never had 1 system crash, not a single failure, with the exception of a programmed failure thru the FMC, generally very happy with the product, cant wait for more!

Ur all right, its not any of those names, so what does it matter if this guy signs or not. I have learnt the hard way never to put my real name on a public forum. Simple as that

New or not isnt the issue, and if u read properly yourself with over 4500 post and actually think my real name is Donald Duck or Willie Walsh then someone else is maybe not reading things properly. We are all human and all make mistakes from time to time, there is is no need to get annoyed by someone simply stating an opinion. I fly aircraft for a living and even i can get confused or occasionally forget something! Lets not get tied up on a name, or a simple post. Maybe google Willie Walsh or Donald Duck if ur not so sure.

What do u mean by legit? He has asked a simple enough question.. he isnt asking for everyone to post their bank details. Just seems people are being a little harsh on this guy. Maybe take into account that this person is not great with written english and is trying to ask an honest question, or maybe he just isnt very "tech" and doesnt get what everyone means.

How about instead of answering each other about whether this guy is a "legit" user, maybe someone who can actually post a possible solution writes something. Legit or not, this guy is having issues with a product he has paid good money for. He expects a responce of some sort. If i could help him i would, with out moaning about his real name! Willie Walsh

Have you tried right clicking the icon on your desktop and selecting "run as administrator" as the option. I had a similar issue to yourself and this seems to make it work without any problems. I am using Windows 7 as well. Hope this helps Ben
