October 12, 201213 yr Hi guys, I haven't got a screenshot right now, but I can make this clear: When I go into faster simulation rate inside FSX the scenery generates big "tiles" of clouds, water, terrain. I see the borders of the terrain and clouds appearing, also square boxes on the water. What is causing this? As I love a long flight, but want to speed up sometimes!! -Refresh scene does not help. -regenerate weather does not help. save continues to be corrupted with these "squares" Restart FSX does not help as well. What is causing this?? I have: REX UTX europe/USA GEX europe/USA as addons. Am flying PMDG747/737 etc. I9 12900K @ 5.1ghz P-cores/ 4.0 ghz E-cores fixed HT off / Corsair iCue H150i Capellix Cooler/ MSI Z690 CARBON WiFi / 32GB Corsair DDR5 RAM @ 5200 mhz XMP on / 12GB MSI 4090 RTX Ventus 3 / 7,5 total TB SSD (2+2+2+1+0,5 all NVMe)/ PSU 850W Corsair / 27" (1080P)
October 12, 201213 yr Run the UTX utility. Let it do it's thing, click okay then exit. That should fix it. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! October 13, 201213 yr Author Okay, This is very nasty. The problem does not go away. I post a screen to add some more info. This is rediculous. GEX disabled, UTX off, REX textures only/ Still getting the big tiles of clouds (terrain also). At night I notice tiles on land as well. This is not getting away. It stays! What on earth could be the culprit here? Reload scenery, weather, etc. Nothing seems to help. I already repaired FSX. Did not do the fix. Any help would be very, very appreciated. October 13, 201213 yr It seems you're flying over my house... I don't like to be disturbed, so I made it as unpleasant as possible to fly over... Sorry, I don't have anything to solve your problem, but I do live on that piece of land down and in the middle of your picture, so I had to respond... Good luck solving your problem an hopefully the next time you fly GRONY-ANDIK-SPY you can see the beautiful skies over Holland again!! Maarten Knoppert

October 13, 201213 yr Author I am reluctant to reinstall FSX because I have a lot of airplanes and fixes made I do not want to lose! But then perhaps there is no other way. October 13, 201213 yr GEX disabled, UTX off, REX textures only/ It's not possible to disable GEX as GEX textures replace the default scenery textures. You can disable REX textures as they have an entry in the Scenery Library. GEX does not. The only way you can bring back GEX is to restore your backup. I would disable REX but maybe the following link will help - http://forum.avsim.net/topic/359542-square-clouds-below/. BTW, your photo is too large. Max is 1600W - http://forum.avsim.net/page/AVSIM%20Pages/screen_shot_rules.html. I will have to remove it. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! October 13, 201213 yr Author I will have to reinstall FSX, too much has hapened. I definitely do not want to reinstall all my addons again, for that I backup all FSX files to copy and past it to my new FSX installation. This I mean by the aircraft. UT Traffic 2 I will reinstall, no problem. But when I backup the modules, gauges and aircraft files, simobject files, effects, sounds files, all will be well I gues?? Because a reinstall of these addons will take much time and effort etc. Byt this I mean mainly the liveries and such. October 13, 201213 yr Have you tried uninstalling UT2 first? Maybe this program has caused your problems. I have MyTrafficX and that program comes with it's own AFCAD's so that there AI aircraft can take off and land properly based on the flightplans they have developed. I put MyTrafficX way down in my scenery library just above Propellor Objects so that any addon scenery can trump the MyTrafficX airports. If you have Addon aircraft, repaints, etc., it should be no problem. I would move the whole SimObjects folder to a temp folder. Then after you reinstall FSX, you can go back into this folder and probably just copy all the aircraft over. If you have the disk space your could actually copy (not move) the whole FSX folder over to a temp directory. Uninstall FSX and then reinstall then you have all your old information and much of it can be put back into the new installation. But be careful how much you move back. Once you are satisfied with the new installation of FSX, you can delete the fsx in the temp directory. Good luck! Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! October 13, 201213 yr Let's see... There is no picture to reference what you are referring to. You keep reinstalling (?) FSX in the hopes that it cures your problem, even though you don't know what the problem is. There is no mention of your system specs, software running, add-ons in use other than a couple of terrain products. Keep throwing the dart at the dart board, maybe you'll get lucky and find a solution?
October 13, 201213 yr Thanks for help meshman! I deleted his photo as it exceeded the size limitations here but hopefully he'll repost again. October 13, 201213 yr Author I reinstalled FSX, the problem persists. Now I'm pretty concerned about what is happening. It seems like the REX water textures are still in FSX, this cannot be possible. It is an entirely fresh installation, adds, nothing at all. I even installed it to another hard drive. FSX folder in appdata/roaming was deleted as well! What is going on here. I for sure, do not know. What I think is that my backup FSX is the culprit. I think my new one is linked to the old one. Nothing else to do than to delete it is my idea. October 13, 201213 yr It makes me wonder. In the first post you mention faster simulation rate. You can't expect sharp textures at 16x rate! Looks crap on my system, too. Switchboard - Track Your Simulator Add-ons - Throttle Quadrant
