October 13, 201213 yr Hey guys, I recently overclocked my i7 950 processor from 3.02 to 4.02 and I don't see any performance increase in FSX. The frame rates are the same, etc. I have 3 1600 DDR3 memories without overclocking and a 1GB Nvidia 560Ti card. What could I be missing that FSX is not responding correctly to my overclock? I still get 13-15fps on the ground. ASRock board Intel i7 950 OC at 4.0GHz 6GB DDR3 1600 Memory 300GB hard drive 1GB Nvidia 560Ti Please let me know. Regards, Teo Teofilo Homsany
October 13, 201213 yr What's your testing scenario? Have you confirmed your overclock through the use of a tool such as CPU-z?
October 13, 201213 yr That's weird, I have a system very similar at yours, but I did notice quite an improvement from default. One thing I could think of is about the Thermal monitoring active on your pc, which keeps decreasing frequency automatically if it feels an overheat. Have you tweaked FSX with Venetubo or Word Not Allowed's guide? Cheers Fede Federico Bellato
October 13, 201213 yr There is too many things that can be a reason for bad performance in fsx. In my experience, you can get best results if you folow this guide only for windows7 tuning and how to instal fsx corectly: http://www.simforums...187.html#198187 It's really excellent explanation and windows tuning guide, with - how to corect instal fsx, SDK and all updates. + some excellent advices like - you need to keep on Hard drives more that 1/2 free space, or you can loose performance. About defragmrntacion etc. But use this guide only from words "ROCK ON" to words "ONE OS or ANOTHER you do NOT NEED TO REPEAT!" in defragmentation section. For fsx tuning use Word Not Allowed's guide, here on avsim: http://forum.avsim.n...-guide-for-fsx/ I tested in past all gudes, and this is in my experience the best combination. About fsx tuning, i'm not saying that Nik's guide or Bojote tweaking tool is not good, but Word Not Allowed's guide was like a real miracle for fsx performance comparing to any other guide Zeljko Budovic

October 13, 201213 yr Thank you ! After a hard week, I needed that :LMAO: What's so funny? I am not native english speaker, if something is not written correctly. But if you don't have SSD, you need to have more than half(50%) free space on hard drives for good performance Zeljko Budovic
