October 17, 201213 yr Commercial Member Hi, Been flying the MD-11 like crazy the last 24 hours, and still can't figure out a way to do this............ During descent to the airport ATC assign me an arrival (STAR), but no runway. The runway assignment is quite late, which is not a problem, except that when I select the approach, it insists on re-entering the already active STAR! I end up with: <ACT STAR> --- DISCO --- <DUP STAR> <APP> --- END --- How can I prevent it adding the STAR a second time? Best regards, Robin.
October 17, 201213 yr How can I prevent it adding the STAR a second time? Use the SEC F-PLN page to set first waypoint of the approach procedure. (Just the first waypoint, not the entire procedure). Then from that waypoint, choose the approach procedure via the LAT REV page. That procedure did help me during a turn-back to the airport a few weeks back. Kenny Lee"Keep climbing"
October 17, 201213 yr Author Commercial Member Ahhh I see...... I was trying to add it to the active flight plan. Thanks! Best regards, Robin.
October 18, 201213 yr It's been a while since I flew the MD, but I think when you do it the second time you have to press CLR (or DEL), then clear the STAR to prevent the duplicate. Steve Caffey
October 18, 201213 yr Author Commercial Member Do you mean you clear each waypoint out of the FPLN page, or in the STAR selection page? Best regards, Robin.
October 18, 201213 yr He meant that you should click at the last waypoint. Open the sidstar menu, then instead of just adding the runway you have to remove the STAR first. Then you will just add the the runway and nothing else. Manfred G. Ships are cooler that you think.
