October 19, 201213 yr Author OK - kidding aside. Here are two pictures. The first is a screenshot and shows the sticky black tarmac. The second compares the look on one of my Viewsonics against the Dell, on the right. Gaiiden was right - it did involve REX. A visitor had ticked all the options (unknown to me). I have now restored the defaults and the tacky black tarmac has gone. But that was only half the answer. It looked so starkly wrong due to the color settings on my Dell Ultra monitor. I have now to work on that, hoping it is not faulty. There was too much red hue when it was new - about 6 months ago - and I thought I had got it right. More work to do. No time for flying. Thank you all Frank Regards Frank Jones
October 20, 201213 yr Glad you got it sorted Frank. Yea looks to me like that monitor needs a bit of calibration... Drew Sikora Staff Blog Founder/Designer, MSE Airports
October 21, 201213 yr Moderator Frank I seriously can't believe you are almost 80! No way hosay! 80 is the new 70, 70 is the new 60, and so on. I hope I am still in such good shape when I am 80. Hopefully sims will be 4 times better than they are now by the time I reach that age. By the way, its no way jose, not hosey :-) Jose is pronounced with the j sounding like an h. October 21, 201213 yr Author Hi Jim True story - you would have been amused to have heard how a Spanish waiter In London in the 70s pronounced my name. I am no good at phonetics, but -------- 'Honesh' will give you some idea. Regards Frank Jones Hi Gaiiden Yes - I'm about to tackle that. It will be another new experience - monitors have always worked 'out of the box' for me. First step 'factory reset' I think. Last resort: it's still under warranty and Dell's service in that regard is excellent. Regards Frank Regards Frank Jones
