  1. Is there any simple button method to pan left and right? PFC software (by Pete Dowson) can be set to do this in Precision Flight Controls equipment, but I don't know what button press code he uses. I use X-Keys to set up multiples for one press easy control.
  2. To seperate cockpit and ATC sound, you need two sound cards.
  3. That certainly looks interesting, and the free trial has to be taken up. But, I wonder if it is truly an interactive replacement for Vox ATC. Is it activated by one's own voice?
  4. Hi mdavenport I don't know why I read this thread - it must have rung a bell. I honestly don't remember the outcome of my link with Andy. If you look me up you'll see I'm 82 and the memory is not what it was. However, I'm still with it and deeply into B737 using Jetmax. If I can, I will gladly help. How are you simulating? What software? What graphics card(s)? How many screens? What are you trying to achieve? Frank
  5. Hi Rex I don't run the Fokker either, but have you thought to seek help on the dedicated forum www.simforums.com Frank
  6. Great spot, Patrick. When FSX-SE installs the Effects slider defaults to High. I was puzzled by the absence of a wake when flying the Grumman seaplane. Your suggested move to Medium cured the problem immediately. Many thanks Frank
  7. Well I just stuck my toe in. UK Scenery's London City has installed without any apparent problem. So I've joined those thousands. There'll be a few more licks on the lollipop methinks! Maybe it's this computer, which has never tasted FS before, but Stream certainly seems to flow smoother and steadier without tweaking, and FSX performs better than I have seen before. All sliders are maxxed too. Frank
  8. Kevin If you don't suck the lollipop you never get the taste. Many old simmers (like me) run more than 1 computer - I have 3, all high end. Oh! and an iPad. My serious simming is done on two dedicated computers upstairs. The one I am using now is in my downstairs study (English for office). It has masses of spare space so I thought I would try the Steam thing. What's $5???? (I do also support Avsim by donation). Through the Steam library, I have discovered that I also have Aerofly (damn these aging grey cells!), so I am downloading that to give it another suck. I later found it gathering electronic dust on 1 of the dedicated machines. Frank
  9. Has anyone tried to install any of their existing addons onto FSX Steam?
  10. Hi Joe The button press has always been the same for me, whichever button I set it to. It's not press, like most instructions. It's press and hold whilst speaking. Frank
  11. I did and it does. I will install the UK version from the DVD.
  12. Having stirred a little hornet's nest here, I feel I should add what I hope is clarification. I purchased version 5 of VoxATC UK & Vox ATC X plus 4 x 16 bit voices in August 2008 from RC Simulations. I have just found the DVD . It contains: VoxATC X; VoxATC UK; 16 bit UK voices and 16 bit US voices. In December 2010 I purchased the update to Version 6 from VoxATC. Along the way I also purchased 4 Cepstral voices. It seems that when I recently upgraded my PC I should have installed the DVD first, and then upgraded by downloading the latest version - 6.49, and using the appropriate registration codes. Frank
  13. Sorry - it was on RC Simulations website. I bought my original VoxATC software from them. Confusion reigns!!! Just wait till you're my age! Frank
  14. Thanks Dave, I asked because of some wording on the VoxATC webpage re version 6. I'm not usually that confused. Must be my age! Frank
  15. I am now using Vox ATC version 6. Do I still need to install VoxATC UK?
  16. The JetMax TQ is not motorised - if that's your question.
  17. I do. And, after years of resisting a dedicated set up, as opposed to a generic one, I wish I done it sooner. Only problem - it does hit your wallet. I still have my Precision Flight Controls based set up for low and slow flying, but the JetMax with all its lifelike knobs and switches is the most used of the two. Frank
  18. Try Control Panel/Folder options/ View
  19. Hi Manny I have the full set up so I don't really know if the TQ used as a stand alone needs the module software or not. As you, apparently, use the PMDG aircraft I suggest you read the FAQ on the JetMax website. If still in doubt, ask the manufacturers. Frank Hi Pilot767 I had trouble initially, but Steve discovered I had been sent the wrong driver - an XML file. Contact JetMax for advice on this. Frank
  20. I have just re-read my Jet Max Throttle Instructions. You will need the FDS-Glare PMDG Module to operate the TQ with PMDG's 737. I use iFly737CBE with my set up.
  21. I have the full set up, and have just ordered the overhead. It is an excellent quality product. You may be able to use just the FSUIPC settings, but if you have any problems you will find that Peter & Steve Cos are very helpful, quickly responding to any query you might have.
  22. I'm with Max2770. It's Vox ATC for me.
  23. Hi Bob In case you are desperate to have 9 available by keystroke I think you can safely alter the numbering of Window[00]. My caution really refers to changing the instructions e.g. if you wish to re-size or re-position. NEVER alter the instructions under the Window[00] heading. Regards Frank
  24. I believe the answer to this is - no. But all is not lost. If you are in need of certain panels (up to 9) you can renumber in the panel cfg file. There is no need to re-order the sections. Just re-numbering will do the trick. As a golden rule - don't touch Window[00]. Change the numbers [01] onwards, both in the preliminary list and at the heading of each section to match. CAUTION - before you start take a copy of the config file as a backup, in case you mess up. One snag - you have to do this to each aircraft you want to use in this way.
